I remember - at least I think I do - being in the ground when a big crowed saw Barrow beaten 1-0 by Burnley in the Lancashire Cup Final (around 1950) and Albert Cheeseborough scored the winning goal. Or maybe not?

I think Barrow are at home to Burnley now in the semi final after they beat Blackpool 3-1 today.

The draw hasnt been made yet Ken so not sure how you work that out.

Great day today felt a bit weird going to the game at 12:30 dinner time in old money. A fantastic atmosphere created by our future fan base excellently led by the effervescent BLUEY. For me personally I wouldn’t like to see these games played behind closed doors as we have been in the wilderness for so many years I couldn’t believe we were playing EVERTON yes EVERTON. Being a 60,s kid I remember well when we played Man Utd and Burnley in this comp regularly night games with great crowds and a fantastic atmosphere. That’s why today it came as no surprise to me that the crowd was oversubscribed, great that the club had a plan b and opened the away end. If we do get a home tie in the semi then I hope and trust the club treat the competition like we used to when we were last in the FL open up the ground and create some more great memories. All in all a brilliant day made more meaningful with our young fans. Player of the match it has to be BLUEY a real star.

Issue was lack of stewards. Would have cost a fortune to bring the usual ones through, and with free entry, well....

What`s all the fuss ? I`m a season ticket holder and even if I`d been off I wouldn`t begrudge young kids ( some of whom their parents ( I`ve been there) wouldn`t be interested in taking them) going instead of me , So glad we won those kid`s will have loved it !

Maybe next time some of the season ticket holders who can get there during the day could be stewards for the game ? Maybe something the club could ask for volunteers for but with safeguarding guess it’s not that easy

I was too young in 1950, but I do remember Barrow 0 Burnley 4 in the Lancs Senior Cup Final on 16th May 1966. I have a picture in my scrapbook of Pilkington having a shot saved by Burnley keeper Adam Blacklaw.

On the same page is the final league table, with Barrow in mid table on 47 points, with Rochdlae, Lincoln, Bradford City and Wrexham having to apply for re-election. At the other end, Doncaster, Darlington, Torquay and Colchester were promoted.

The website did say "limited capacity" on the day. Maybe you should of get there earlier like the ones that have got in to see the game

Season ticket holder means nothing, not valid for cup games. The club advertised it was limited capacity so you were set up to be told you couldn’t get in if it was full.

If you walked in to a restaurant that you regularly go to but didn’t book and they said they couldn’t fit you in because they were full - would you kick off? Didn’t think so.

I had my own issues with the club over this game and some students I wanted to take, fortunately it was sorted out and from what I saw, every young person there enjoyed it - those young people who are the clubs future.

Was the 1966 final the one where Burnley fielded the full first team after they were selected as a punishment following a hammering in the First Division (prem) in their previous game ?

It sounds like the kids had a great day, this is exactly what the club should be doing to entice the next generation of fans. Massive well done to all those involved.

Same again for the next round, invite even more kids and shove the moaning miserable [SwearFilter] in the away end again.

Probably a training issue, sure stewards now have to have a qualification now to do it at a EFL ground.

I don't remember that, but certainly Adam Blacklaw was the first team keeper.
