Just a thought.

Listening to both Pete wild and paul Simpson on the wireless and the difference in how they talk about the run in.
Paul Simpson is bigging up the promotion push and appears to be pushing the positive vibe whereas Pete wild is actually quite the opposite.. I wonder if Pete has an eye on playoffs and behind the doors is talking to the team and encouraging them or if he is like in the radio and being dismissive?

Perhaps PW is playing media poker and playing it down? Perhaps he doesn't want to push?

He almost comes across as quite negative which I personally don't like. Paul on the other hand is instilling belief, making the team think they are better than they probably are?

Anyway, let's get another 3 and see how others fair today.

I think it’s more to do with being a realist, Carlisle have the points to play with to fluff a game or two yet and easily get into the playoffs although they will want the momentum to keep automatic promotion a possibility.
We on the other hand have to rely on others to fluff their lines and still put in an amazing run to keep that dimly flickering candle alight.

Whether we make the play-offs or not, and personally I don't think we will, it has been a fantastic season and listening to PW post-match today, he's already working on different systems etc for next season. Fantastic time to be a Bluebird.

Been a wonderful season whatever happens. Amazing start, bit if a wobble in the middle and turned corner once again. Beat some fantastic teams this year and Pete Wild gas brought some much needed enthusiasm and love to the role. Think we will miss the playoffs by a point or 2 but you never know and we never lose at Holker St South

Achieving a playoff spot after being five points outside of it in April is undoubtedly a challenging feat, as the season is drawing to a close, and the competition for the remaining spots intensifies.

Nevertheless, with hard work, determination, and a bit of luck, anything is possible in football, and some teams might have defied the odds and secured their place in the playoffs in previous years. Ultimately, the EFL League 2 is a highly competitive football league, and every team will have to give their best until the very last game to have a chance of reaching the playoffs.

Aye, a little bit of lady luck will have a bit part to play for sure.
The top ten are not what you would say "running away" with it, so several teams will have the chance and it's all down to who really wants it most?

The so called bigger clubs will be under intense pressure, Bradford, Carlisle, Salford etc.. pressure can do funny things, either make you or break you! Carlisle for example, not scored a goal for 4 games now? I think that's the pressure playing it's part!

We didn't genuinely set out to get promotion, we wanted safety as early as possible.. we have achieved that and no matter what happens, we will all consider the season a success!

So, without pressure and knowing we can enjoy our football (along with lady luck) and sneak in while others are floundering.

Be an interesting end if we get 4 or 6 points this Easter and the others drop points!

The 12 minutes between Gillingham’s equaliser and Gotts’ goal had me feeling a bit flat, thinking “well, that was an unexpectedly good season, but it’s over”. That equaliser has just extended the season by at least another game or two (Crewe is winnable, despite them winning at Doncaster). Going into April with something to play for totally exceeds what we could have expected. Our poor goal difference could come back to bite us, which would be harsh, but it is much worse than the teams above us.
I spent yesterday afternoon gardening, listening to the whole match replay - Adam and Goody’s reaction to that late goal was pure gold!

Realistically can’t see us finishing on any more then between 65 and 70 points unfortunately not being enough for the play offs but still an incredible season. I still class this as our first real season back in the league, finally a bit of stability and a “project” in the making. I think at times this year we’ve been our own worse enemy and if we can iron out those mistakes next year and keep hold of our key players who knows what could happen!

Whilst being involved involved in the play-offs would be a dream, actually getting promoted might become a nightmare.
I have no idea what the club would need to do to upgrade the ground and facilities to reach L1 standards but it’s obviously going to involve yet more costs. Them costs are going to fall on the owners (including the Trust). If promotion were gained then you would also have the added costs of attracting better players.

Like I say, I have no idea what would need to be done to the ground but we’re struggling to keep pace with L2 requirements as it is.

Might be controversial but promotion (not that I think we will get that far) could be a step too far.
