Re: Kian Spence
If he comes back from injury(bone of contention amongst us Halifax fans) then you've got a hell of player. And I mean a hell of a player!

Re: Kian Spence
We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Kian Spence from FC Halifax Town for an undisclosed fee, subject to EFL approval.
The exciting box to box midfield man joins on a two year deal and reunites with Pete Wild, after he was a part of the Gaffers successful Halifax team in the 2021/22 season.
Spence spent his youth career at Middlesbrough before leaving in search of first team football at Scarborough in July 2019.
An impressive season season with the Seadogs saw him quickly rise back up the leagues to FC Halifax Town and after a short loan spell back at Scarborough, he established himself as a key player at the Shay over the past few seasons.
Spence featured 39 times, scoring 5 goals during the 2021/22 season under Pete Wilds mentorship and the Gaffer is delighted to be working with him again:
βWhen I left Halifax I believed he was one of the brightest talents in the National League and after a tough season last year, I believe we can get Kian back to the levels he showed for me.
He is a creative, athletic central midfielder who can get around the pitch, creating and scoring goals for the team.
I am delighted he has chosen Barrow as his next club and we certainly believe we can help him along his journey.β
Kian is equally as excited to get started with the club, speaking to us after putting pen to paper for the Bluebirds:
βIβm really excited to be here and to have everything sorted.
Every player wants to be playing in the EFL and Iβm looking forward to being a part of what is going on at Barrow.
I obviously worked with Gaffer when he was the manager at Halifax, so I know how his team plays and what he expects from the lads.
I believe I can offer that and more, so Iβm looking to get myself fit and ready ahead of pre-season so I can contribute to the team as much as possible.
The club obviously did really well last season, I want to help improve on that and I donβt think there is any reason we canβt do that as a squad.β

He sounds like the creative midfielder that we have been crying out for. Potentially an excellent signing.HenneysKnee wrote: βFri Jun 09, 2023 7:05 pmDifferent players by sounds of things: Neal was never going to score many goals

Halifax fan earlier said the injury was a bone of contention. How long do they take to heal?

Re: Kian Spence
About the time it takes for Pete Wild to complete the signing after tapping him up. Hope we got some good sell ons for him, as I think he can make it to at least the championship.bluessupporter wrote: βFri Jun 09, 2023 7:39 pm Halifax fan earlier said the injury was a bone of contention. Re: Kian Spence
he is 22 - so if Halifax had offered him a contract there would be a fee (compensation) to paybluessupporter wrote: βFri Jun 09, 2023 7:44 pmWasn't he out of contract with you?ShaymenJohn wrote: βFri Jun 09, 2023 7:42 pm

Re: Kian Spence
Yes, but due to his age and the fact you probably don't want to go to tribunal, it's essentially a transfer(hence undisclosed fee). Will be probably a smaller fee, then in contract but I imagine we will have sell ons as well.bluessupporter wrote: βFri Jun 09, 2023 7:44 pmWasn't he out of contract with you?ShaymenJohn wrote: βFri Jun 09, 2023 7:42 pm
