Not necessarily a negative but I think it shows the value of developing them and selling them on whilst under contract rather than them running down a contract and go on a free .
As long as we get some equally as good in their place.
Will be the same again at the end of the 23/24 Season, at the moment 17 players on contract only 3 here until summer 25, could be 4 with 1 year option on Duffus.

Agree but I think we all have to accept that unless we get some more outer investment this is what the EFL is going to be like! ,and I don't think it'll get any easier unfortunately!

The doom and gloom we don't kick a competitive ball yet for ages.

Nobody wants to come, we have a bottom 4 budget, we are going get kicked out for not having enough seats, the game in Jan next year is going to be off due to rain.

This poor old little Barrow nonsense wears a bit thin after a while.

I agree that's why we have managed to keep our best players.
We have brought in players of equal proven ability to replace our rejects

It should get that little bit easier in the future but atm we are kinda hamstrung by having to invest heavily, Well heavily for us on improvements & infrastructure, Its a juggling act with the funds available as we need to spend enough on players to stay competitive while building up facilities (Which are vital for us to grow & hopefully prosper) Factor in the Bluebird Club/Garage suddenly becoming available, Which was a no-brainer to buy so we protect ourselves & that most probably wasn't budgeted for.

The more we spend today on building up the club the more attractive we become further down the line to outside investment providing we stay up & hope our crowd averages continue to climb as they have been doing & with every tea hut, shop, bars & concessions the easier it is to part people with their money, it all adds up.

Maybe things are ok, ‘cos I think it’s usually pigs that fly when there’s an expression of disbelief…
Retaining and releasing players, with accompanying trials and tribulations, aren’t areas unique to Barrow. The footballers in L2 are journeymen, most with short contracts. Anyone who is any good goes up by being scouted and offered a more lucrative contract. Those not cutting it go down or disappear. Some have their heads turned by increased dollar. It’s a conveyor belt of a product, and you can’t blame the players for looking out for themselves and their families.
It’s also a punt for every manager/DofF when someone is signed. The word “proven” is bandied about on here as some absolute essential.
All we can hope for is sound judgement from the management regarding players, that they fit in and improve. Underpinning all of that is - how much money do we have to facilitate getting them on board?
getting them to sign? Thus far the argument is that Worral is “proven”, and the other three have a lot to prove. Hey ho, welcome to EFL2.

You almost certainly made the same points last summer when Platt, Rooney, Banks etc all left.

Accept reality mate, Nobody has said "little old Barrow " but it's pretty obvious that the league this season is going to be stronger ,we've lost brough and Gordon has turned down a massive offer! and unless something happens we have to replace McClelland and Neal both stand out performer's, as Mike states it's a juggling act ,so hopefully we don't drop anything!
Nobody on here wants Barrow to struggle but every time someone states facts you come on here with the same mantra ,tell you what give some reasons why they're wrong!

The close season is always like this. Starts out as a glorious opportunity for recruitment but tends to break down quickly into an equal number of threats. For the vast majority of clubs it’s a process that they can’t really control and you have to weigh up what you’ve gained against what you have lost at the end of the period.

The presence of the Wrexhams of this world simply make that process more volatile and the outcome less predictable.

Agree with what you’ve said here. Wild will know we are not a free scoring side and with Gordon likely to move on he has to pull a rabbit out the hat to replace his 15 goals or else we will struggle for goals. That’s not doom and gloom or anything like that- it’s based upon what we’ve seen last season on how he plays and our lack of goals from other areas. Duffus may come good but it’s a lot on him to get the goals and unless Tom White starts banging them in then who else still here from last season can come up with 8-10 goals to help the strikers.

Yes I did and we had a flying start but dropped away .
Think how well we were doing initially surprised PW when you heard his interviews.

We never had a decent midfielder to replace Rooney nor another decent goal scorer.
They were not replaced with better players hence we had the worst goal difference out of the top 10.

It's not a negative to discuss our worries.
Let's be honest David Moyo was being touted as a
strong prospect to do well.

Carlisle have got promoted because they had a experienced Manager PW is still learning his trade.

We still do need a decent midfield player a defender and striker

Yep it's difficult but that's why people go into football.

Got to replace 23 goal Gordon and Waters is the DOF’s top priority. Everyone can see that.
Is Duffus coming in to be our main striker? He’s played number 9 in previous clubs. Serious question.
