Four Four Two

For what it’s worth I see the so called experts at the 442 Magazine are predicting we’ll finish the season 11th.

Are these the same 'experts' that forecast that Stevenage and Barrow would be relegated last season?

I agree but in their defence - they didn’t say we’d be relegated last season - they had us down as finishing 19th, one place above Stevenage.

They predicted Hartlepool and Harrogate would get relegated- well they got one right and they had Mansfield, Stockport Northampton all getting automatic promotion - one right again.

I think them predicting we’ll finish higher than they predicted for last season is more of a sign that the good folk in the football world now, quite rightly, see us as more of a force to be reckoned with, and a club moving in the right direction thanks to all the investment in the club.

Yes the fact they have is in mid table could just be down to them not having a clue and just using last seasons League position. Having said that it’s not IMO a bad guess.

As a matter of interest who did they have in the bottom two positions?

I'm sure there will be lots of 'experts' on YouTube predicting us to go down again.

It’s not a bad prediction, i don’t see it as an insult. I think we’re a good deal better than last season so have hopes of making the play offs

to be honest there are not many (if any) this time;- nearly everyone is predicting Harrogate, Crawley and Morecambe as the clubs fighting to avoid the drop - there are even 2 or 3 that have us in the play-offs
Lancashire;- born and bred

So three very recent NL sides to romp to League 1? Now that would be very interesting.

Nah, I’d say that was the bookies.

I saw an expert say Haaland would struggle to get 15 goals last season, so…

Cheers FF. Those predictions don’t convince me that a great deal of analysis has been done here.

Don’t know why you’d pick Sutton for relegation at this point. Good manager, tight little club and one or two decent signings in pre-season. If anybody wants to avoid bracketing Crawley with Morecambe then they might want to look at Newport rather than Sutton. Trust owned and needing investment, unable to sign decent players, a manager who I personally don’t rate and a plethora of long term injuries.

At the other end although I can understand the hype around Wrexham, how you can think that Bradford City should not warrant a place in the top 7 is beyond me.. Expect Notts County to be in and around the fringes of the play-offs. But for both promoted sides to achieve successive promotions would I think be almost unique.

As we saw last year most predications are done on the basis of sweeping generalisations. In this world some have Wrexham already promoted and mad Crawley are already condemned. Reality won’t be that simple.
