Watched the Sutton highlights. Same Sutton as always, big and strong, powerful in the air. No pushover. At least we are bigger all round than last season. Could be a real tussle next week.

Big mention the George Ray. Unreal today got some stick last season but what a performance today

Good to see some of the tranmere fans clapping behind the goal.chipmunx wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 7:47 pm https://twitter.com/dan_walker1104/stat ... 4356251648
that's the goal if anyone wants a look

We were just talking about him before I left the boozer. Had a sound game and produced a block saving what looked like a certain goal second half. Really impressed with Campbell and Worrall is looking like he’s going to be some player for us.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Aug 05, 2023 9:17 pm Big mention the George Ray. Wow- That’s a heck of a strike to win it. To take that on and not send it into row Z.
What a hit that is. Brilliant.
The fan clapping the headed clearance then claps the goal.

Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Absolutely played them off the park first half, then they pretty much dominated the next 25 minutes and when they pulled one back…it was worrying but what a strike by Spence, brilliant.
Defence looked pretty solid, some really good defending and we were well worth the three points.
Worrall is going to be a massive success for us this season - what a player we’ve got there.
Their number 8 (Hendry?) a complete pain in the arse…but I’d love him in our team.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Love the reaction of their player near to Spence - hands on hips - as if saying - "where the f... did that come from?"

Good away performance we defended brilliantly. The tackle from George Ray in the penalty area late on to deny Dennis a shot on goal was as good as a goal. Superb.
Re: Tranmere Rovers v Barrow match thread
From behind the goal it was obvious that the team ran their socks off and were superbly organised. Some of the patterns of play were great to see coming off, especially through midfield and flanks. Big shout out to young Acquah. He was a bloody handful for their defence and caused them all sorts of problems. Can see him being a big favourite as he gets used to the EFL.

What impressed me yesterday was the strength in depth of our squad - certainly a lot stronger than in previous seasons. I’m sure a few of yesterday’s subs will soon be pushing to make the starting line up.

Blimey, what a proper result that was, mate! Barrow went away to Tranmere and gave 'em a proper show, they did! Canavan pulled off a sublime finish that left everyone's jaws on the floor, and then Spence, oh blimey, he sent that ball sailin' into the top of the goal like a rocket, bangin' it in off the crossbar! Absolute pearler of a shot, I tell ya!
And after the final whistle, it was time for a proper knees-up, ain't it? Fans singin', dancin', and raisin' their pints high, celebratin' like there's no tomorrow. Barrow, they've made their mark, mate, beatin' Tranmere for the first time since returnin' to the football league. What a ruddy triumph!

I really hope when Proctor is back we play both him and Acquah. They will be a handful for anyone. I see Garner as more of a no10 not a main striker. Worrall is going to be vital for us this year. I fully expect Whitfield to come back amd start but credit where credits due Newby played well yesterday.
Think we all knew after pre season but Campbell is class
