Probably more the factor they’ll be playing a weakened team anyway

You implying that Barrow Bluebirds are a weakened team?

(I know you're not saying that, it's a joke)

The way Morecambe are messing opposing teams about with their so called International duty call ups, they deserve to get well and truly beaten on Tuesday night,so here,s hoping the Bluebirds can do it and put three goals past them with no reply.Up the Bluebirds. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

There is no “messing” about it - if Barrow were missing 4/5 key players due to international call ups we’d be doing the same. They have every right to do it

Yes indeed. The rule that applies states that if a club has three or more players called up for international duty (including U-21s) they may REQUEST a cancellation from the EFL for all games or competitions that fall under the auspices of the EFL. This includes EFL trophy games.

So Morecambe could legitimately request for the game with us to be postponed.

However there are rules in place that already allow teams to modify the starting eleven in an EFL trophy game. Further, EFL regulations stipulate that when applying these rules priority will always be given to League fixtures.

So in reality it’s highly unlikely that consent would be given for a postponement unless something pretty drastic had happened affecting the entire squad (COVID possibly).

We were 0-5 down in less than an hour. Even Peter McDonell looked as if he didn't want to be there . On a side note after trawling t'internet I found a Barrovian Steve Knox in recent years coaching the German men and Scottish women cricket team at the same time. Could it be one and the same ?
I'm sure he played for Ulverston Cricket Club

He did indeed. I played against Steve when I played for Barrow CC. Also his dad Bob ( Barrow AFC legend) and uncle Mike. They both started at Ulverston. He also played for Furness CC .Good at both sports.
