The Last time I saw a tackle that solid was one by Stuart Humphreys (older fans will remember), he definitely took no prisoners 🤣!
Local Meteorologists had it as a 9 on the Richter Scale. Ray was incredible last night, traditionally you focus on the forwards to see a bit of skill and excitement but with our current team the back three are the stars.
Hi, Wintergreen.

I’m sorry, the pedant in me can’t help it. It would be a Seismologist who would be applying the Richter Scale (though it is a rather out-dated method of measurement these days). A Meteorologist typically deals with the atmospheric sciences.

I think that little tinker (Wintergreen) was waiting patiently for someone to correct his “mistake”….he’s a bugger 😁
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

If that's accurate then it is stretching the boundaries of racism. Anyone can be a 'big gorilla', but if it is shouted at a person of colour then it is racist? Nah. That should get tied up pretty quickly and have no further action.
Who can be a 'cheeky monkey'? Or a 'northern monkey'? Can a person of colour who does impressions be described as 'aping' somebody? It's ridiculous.
If this gent called another white player a gorrila should he then be banned also.
I am not PC but supported the Anti Apartheid movement only to see a African Government treat it's liberated citizens badly .It's not about colour it's about deeds.
We are to ready to jump on the band wagon.
Let's not make this something it's not unless intent is shown.

Yes we’d love to see free flowing football but would we rather see a side that’s organised, hard to beat that gets results or Man City lite on the pitch that maybe doesn’t

Hard to watch at times but effective - that does me nicely
Sorry mate I have to disagree.

I'd rather watch entertaining football being played - organised and being hard to beat is good - if you're getting results. But an entertaining team is good to watch week in - week out. I was young enough to watch Colin Appleton manage the great Barrow AFC side of the late 60s. And lucky enough to have seen the MUFC side that contained Best, Charlton and Law. Both of those teams were 'Entertainment' personified! It's 'Entertainment' that attracts the crowds - not being dull and organised.

What the actual [SwearFilter]? Is this for real? What does the guy have to do before we should condemn him? Get the banana out of his pocket? Throw it? Or would there be a convenient excuse for that too?

Comparing this to calling someone a cheeky or Northern monkey is completely disingenuous. Context is everything.

Really not sure why they keep going on about the pitch as if they are peak Man City, most of us will have seen how a Derek Adams team plays…..
Also goes on a huge rant about the referee then fails to mention they massively got away with one when Senior wasn’t sent off

What a diatribe! I have to admit that the ref made a lot of poor decisions, most of which favoured Barrow, but that has to be balanced against the massive error in not giving Senior a second yellow card - a matter which mysteriously has been missed by both Adan’s and the writer of this bunch of sour grapes.

A fine balance. Football in its nature should be entertaining, people pay to be entertained. However, modern football has in a lot of cases become ‘chess like’ and if you don’t play the game of ‘chess’ then you can very quickly find yourself in trouble.

I think Wild has got the balance right, we’ve got the best team we’ve had for a long time who can entertain but also dig in when required.

For what it’s worth, I enjoyed last night and was entertained by our teams robust performance.

It is a results business, you can [SwearFilter] around with ball playing nice football but you don't get any points for that.

I did think in parts we played some lovely football. The pitch did seem to cut up a bit but a little rude for that bitter match report to compare it to a ploughed field.

As for the ref Morecambe we're very lucky to not to be down to 10 men the ref bottled it.

As for the director at Morecambe shouting such a thing whether the intention to be racist or not shouting such a thing is just not on.

I agree. Ian Evatt managed to entertain and get the results in the year we won the national league. He set out to prove it can be done as has done similar at Bolton to good effect.

"I'd rather watch entertaining football being played" .... on a Wet windy Tuesday night at Holker St in League 2. Would you rather we'd played 'entertainingly' and lost? I'd personally take dull 1-0 wins from now until the end of the season. I know what you are saying Sea Dog Sam but sometimes we have to be realistic oh for a Best, Law and a Charlton. Like you I'm old enough to have watched and admired them. ONLY MY OPINION. I respect yours.

Bans incoming.. so embarrasing
Cub statement

Barrow Association Football Club are once again reminding supporters of our zero-tolerance policy in regard to pyrotechnics.

We are appealing for assistance in identifying the individuals or individual responsible for the ‘letting off’ of a pyrotechnic during Tuesday’s home game against Morecambe FC.

We are also reviewing CCTV footage and we will be providing Cumbria Police with images to further identify suspects.

There is no place for pyrotechnics, including flares, smoke bombs and fireworks, in our stadium.

The club could now be subject to sanctions from the footballing authorities, as a result of yesterday’s incident, in addition to further ramifications following investigations undertaken.

Anyone who may have any further information which could be of assistance is asked to e-mail media@barrowafc.com

Anybody got any information?
I'm guessing that the provided warning on se of pyrotechnics fell on deaf ears. The planning to try and stop them being taken in the ground, and the actions taken following last season Carlisle Derby games did not work. Second occurance will no doubt have far reaching issues affecting the club.
