Who do we want in round 2?

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

I doubt we would

Barnsley kicked out of FA Cup for fielding ineligible player in replay v Horsham who will now play Sutton United away in 2nd Round.

Different times; cost of living crisis affecting people now. Think you’d be right for the last round away at a league club, not sure for this round which would be away at “another” non league club

Wow that’s an expensive mistake. Good on Horsham

Agree the cost of living is crippling family's some on this forum may have money but plenty won't, IMHO the crowds for home games are excellent with the other expenses people have and it won't get any better in the new year.

Fairplay to Barnsley too, they could have appealed but simply owned up and let the little guys through!

What are high numbers now? Back in the dark days, if we had if taken let's say 300, that probably would have been considered decent numbers perhaps? We are a "big boys club now" 😁😉
Still hoping for a 3rd round tie despite being a "bigger fish" as the fa cup is still something special!
It always was when I was growing up anyway and it still is now.. how great would it be to get a draw against man I or Liverpool... The stuff of dreams! Oh...and the money too!

Cost of living or not, attendances at EFL1, EFL2 and National League have gone up substantially since the the pandemic and had, in fact, had generally been rising more gradually in the previous 10 years. The last full year pre-pandemic (2019/20), the average attendances for EFL1 was 8,766, for EFL2 was 4,671 and for NL was 2,172 compared with (2022/23) which were 9,584, 6,037 and 3,349 respectively.

I could be miles off here Russell but it might be slightly cheaper for folk to attend a home game than an away game in Kent…..

This you accepting Telford is a quality striker and not another club's reject? ;)

True but you would still have expected the cost of living crisis to have an impact on lower league attendances - at least, I would - and the surprising thing is that it hasn't.

I simply stated that he'd scored against Crawley :D a 'tongue in cheek' response to a post concerning Maidstone. However, he does seem to better than when he first arrived. I'll reserve referring to him as a 'quality striker' at this stage in the season, but hopefully, I'll be able to by the end of it :D

Ours hasn't! :D 10 on the bounce if we beat Walsall tonight?

I remember reading earlier on this thread that Maidstone had remained unbeaten for a number of games and thinking that they would be a team brimming with confidence even though being two leagues below us. The boot's on the other foot now. WE'RE the team full of confidence. WE'RE the team on an unbeaten run. Bring it ON! :D
