Not a great game to watch but it’s the 3 points that matter. I don’t like the style of football where we sit back, don’t challenge and just let them have as much time in the ball as they want, but a win is a win.

Still don’t think Proctor brings much but that will be a debate that will run and run

If you listen to Pete Wilds after match interview he explains why we don't press and sit back. Teams like MKDons want you to press as they have players with the ability to play round the press and pick you off.

Barrow afc 2018 wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:17 pm In the grand scheme of things that was one hell of a result today, for me that game was won off the field of play. The amount of assessing, the amount of research that our staff do then to pick a squad capable on the day of getting a result against a form team was fantastic. The team spirit is second to none and this comes through in droves, our team were under immense pressure today to gain a win and they came through with flying colours for their manager and fans. There are no giveaway points in league two every one of them won through a brilliant team effort and spirit. Tactics and Subs once again superb by Wildy and long may this continue. Not bad for little ol Barrow are you listening radio C you are missing out on something really special that is happening and it’s right on your own doorstep.
Good post!

I wonder if RC is aware that Look North-West is featuring little old Barrow this season. Probably not as it's 'Look North' up there.

Proctor was excellent when he came on.
Apart from the ridiculous miss and inexplicably getting tackled on the edge of our own area when there was no danger, where they should have had an equaliser… He had a couple of nice touches, but he was still crap.

Funny you mentioned that Mark as Stockton was being subbed, a guy behind me said he hasn't done much ,and I turned round laughing and said, well as long as he scores goals there's not much you can say !

Is this a Barrow AFC fans forum, or just a whinge about R.C. every chuffing week. A few years ago commentary of our games were about to be non existent, or just brief interludes from some nobody up the coast who were not even at the games.R.C appealed for a volunteer from Barrowfans to do the job. I think it was called, stuff Barrow AFC and pass the book. How many stepped up. I will tell you how many, 1. That takes a lot of courage and bottle. That was Adam a passionate Barrow fan like me and many others who used to go to all the away games during the non league days. It was horrible, but we had great times I will never forget. That's how I met so many fans of our great club. The point I am trying to make is, LOOK AT THE SODDING LEAGUE TABLE. Its the football league table for gods sake.
Stop being obsessed about some tuppence halfpenny radio show. It means absolutely nothing to me. I don't always agree with Adam and he knows that. Its called having opinions. And we are friends. That's how it should be. We are 3rd in in the league. What more do some of you want. If you can, please try and enjoy it.

No one is having ago at Adam. Have you even read what people are saying or have you just jumped straight on your high horse. Yes the team are doing great. Yes we are 3rd we can all read the table. Who cares what coverage we got years ago we are talking about the here and now. No one is obsessed with radio cumrbia we just want our fair share of coverage for this great team. And to hear our managers full interview after a home win?

Great win today especially given the form of MK Don's.

I listen to the post match show I like to hear the pete wild interview.

Part of the problem is they have Carlisle people in the studio linking it all together so the discussion is always going to be about Carlisle first and foremost. They maybe need someone with a Barrow bent in the studio. Or change the way they do it .. the full time reports from all of the teams in Cumbria should come before the after game autopsy.

Today tho he have 75 percent of the post match talking about Carlisle and squeezing post match with the manager to the last 2 mins isn't very balanced.

The BBC stands for British Broadcast Corporation.
It's not Radio Carlisle.

I am writing to complain of the inequality of treatment of the coverage of Barrow AFC.

Today after our victory our Managers interview was cut short so We could listen to Chris Lumsden on how to deal with a in growing toe nail.

We are all license payers and all should be treated the same way.

We keep hearing phone in .The next programme after that was said the programme was filled with Paul Simpson on how to turn a glass eye to sleep.

Would it be possible to supply a figure on the time Barrow AFC and Carlisle United have coverage excluding match time

I think we have always had good coverage from Radio Cumbria, before Adam we had other dedicated Barrow commentators. Prior to that i remember Russell Dodd and Ron Duxsbury

We get better Radio coverage than the vast majority of teams in EFL2.

Today's post-match programme was badly misjudged

I only got back to the car around 5:15 and, as the programme ran its course, assumed I had missed the manager's interview. It now appears so had everyone else. Inexcusable.

I don't subscribe to the view of some on here that we should be grateful for crumbs from the Carlisle table on. BBCRC. While most seem happy to make fun of our Little Old Barrow tag, it seems a few still believe.

Interesting game. Strong MK midfield and defence were resilient to many of our attacks while our defence showed the qualities that have regularly served the team well but MK still had real chances. Substitutes livened things up for us.

iFollow highlights are very generous to our visitors (and don't reflect the gane stats).

I hope the lighting fault has been identified and a permanent fix can be made. On a day with poorer weather today's match wouldn't have finished.

No but a word of warning. The BBC recently made huge cuts to local radio with Cumbria suffering some of the most savage cuts. We now only get proper local radio from 6-2 on Mon to Fri. From 2.00pm we have shared programmes with Radio Lancashire. At weekends its shared programmes with Lancs and merseyside. Thankfully we still have local football covered and a Monday night show at 6 and the Friday night preview show at 6. But who is to say these wont go if the BBC look for more cuts. The counties 3 professional rugby league sides lost there Sunday afternoon Rugby League coverage a few years ago and now just have online commentaries.
