It certainly took a lot of skill to head the ball from one post across the goal mouth to the outside of the other post from the 1 yard line. Few could do that.

Re: MK Dons.
That’s because rugby league is dead and no body is really bothered about it. If the bbc are looking for more cuts there wasn’t much of our post match coverage aired to cut down on
they should cut lummy

No I just appreciate what we have now compared to the days Russel Dodd and Ron Duxbury covered us for Radio CumbriaFanzoneFan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 10:12 pmMain Stand Tct do you by chance have a relative that works for Radio Cumbria ?Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:36 pm

Re: MK Dons.
I was going to listen to the post match show while out running tomorrow morning. If it's true that Lumsdon was arguing with the fans, then I'll be going some distance.
Popular side since '03.
Re: MK Dons.
I enjoy the coverage of Barrow down in Manchester on BBC NW news. As far as local TV is concerned South Cumbria and Furness in particular gets its fair share of coverage.
Note the word fair. You have to ask does Barrow AFC get its fair share of sports coverage on RC. Using Alexa I turned on RC at 5 today before I had to go out & waited impatiently, as I sort of knew what was going to happen, regarding coverage of Carlisle. But I did think I would have heard Wilds interview before leaving around 5.50. There is no excuse for that. If Barrow were still non league then fair enough. But we are not.

I had a similar experience. I actually thought I’d missed PWs interview until the snip at the end. But hey ho.Hadrian wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:54 pm Today's post-match programme was badly misjudged
I only got back to the car around 5:15 and, as the programme ran its course, assumed I had missed the manager's interview. It now appears so had everyone else. Inexcusable.
I don't subscribe to the view of some on here that we should be grateful for crumbs from the Carlisle table on. BBCRC. While most seem happy to make fun of our Little Old Barrow tag, it seems a few still believe.
Interesting game. Strong MK midfield and defence were resilient to many of our attacks while our defence showed the qualities that have regularly served the team well but MK still had real chances. Substitutes livened things up for us.
iFollow highlights are very generous to our visitors (and don't reflect the gane stats).
I hope the lighting fault has been identified and a permanent fix can be made. On a day with poorer weather today's match wouldn't have finished.
Agree with your synopsis of the game to Hadrian. I did think the goal came from a rare defensive lapse by MK. During that period they were trying to establish some dominance and began to commit more players forward. On that occasion they left Stockton and Whitfield 2v2. Farman clearly clocked them and humped the ball up the middle. Once it reached Stockton MK were in trouble. Very tough game. Great result.

Yes we only have two EFL teams .Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:36 pmWe get better Radio coverage than the vast majority of teams in EFL2.
Lancashire has a minimum of 8 depending on which radio station covers them so they will get less coverage.

I understand Adam not willing to criticise his employer on here, but this forum is for the rest of us to get things off our chest, moan if you like. And can people stop blowing smoke up his backside, he’s a decent commentator, that’s it.Adam29 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 6:49 pmI’m more frustrated at people moaning on hereBig_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 6:38 pm
You must be frustrated yourself Adam with the sheer lack of coverage/time on the air you get. Your home town team flying at the top end of league and your interviews are being cut short so that lummy can call people out
I’ve posted the stations email address on many an occasion
If you have an issue complain to the station - posting on here isn’t going to do anything is it

Re: MK Dons.
Listening to the Barrow interview on iPlayer after the programme I see it was 10 minutes long and there seemed to be a couple of 'fluffs' near the end that would need editing. Perhaps 10 minutes is a tad too long for an interview and if personnel cuts have been made to the station then perhaps there was nobody to do the editing in time and it was easier to let Lumsden sound off in the way he did. Still no excuse, but if true, perhaps an explanation.
The surprise was that Lumsden was allowed to carry on the way he did. Does the programme not have a producer who is supposed to give balance, or perhaps he/she is also favours Carlisle United or found it easier not to bother!

Re: MK Dons.
I would like to think that the debacle was the result of some logistical/technical/human issue - if so a brief explanation would be nice and they already have a wealth of credit for providing a brilliant service for listeners home and abroad.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 9:39 am Listening to the Barrow interview on iPlayer after the programme I see it was 10 minutes long and there seemed to be a couple of 'fluffs' near the end that would need editing. They do favour Carlisle and that's fine, I have detected over the years that Adam J has a strong bias for Barrow.
There I've said it.

I listen to the post match show I like to hear the pete wild interview.
Part of the problem is they have Carlisle people in the studio linking it all together so the discussion is always going to be about Carlisle first and foremost. They maybe need someone with a Barrow bent in the studio. Or change the way they do it .. the full time reports from all of the teams in Cumbria should come before the after game autopsy.
Today tho he have 75 percent of the post match talking about Carlisle and squeezing post match with the manager to the last 2 mins isn't very balanced.
I have really enjoyed listening to RC sports coverage over the decades often dreaming when our beloved Barrow would reach the dizzy heights of the EFL. I always liked to hear how our other teams in Cumbria were doing and would listen with envy especially at the coverage Carlisle Utd got. I actually like the way Phillips and Lumsden are so passionate about their team but the thing is we also have a passionate commentator and an ex professional who could also discuss all things Barrow AFC till the cows come home but can’t because of the embarrassing imbalance of coverage. Let’s be honest it’s not just the imbalance it’s the other little things like I Follow switch-over where Barrow are like an afterthought in proceedings. I could be really cynical and say some of it could be meant in order to wind us up?
The RC sports program must take some co-ordination so credit to Paul Newton and his staff here, with the games lasting much longer then getting all the manager interviews and fans comments plus the dynamic situations arising that listeners would be interested in hence lots to squeeze in. Maybe the show could be extended by 15 mins to get everything in so come on Mr Newton Barrow have come a long pitiful and painful way to earn the right to be mentioned in the same breath as Carlisle Utd yet we feel we are still being classed as Non League, No ifs no buts this is how it feels.
So come on guys we can have a bit of banter between clubs that’s good isn’t it but let’s not get personal and recognise that we have two great sides representing Cumbria in the EFL so try and get down to Holker St you will be made more than welcome. Together we can be great.
Re: MK Dons.
To be honest I don’t listen to RC much these days, but in past when I did, Carlisle fans got involved after the match but hardly anybody from Barrow did, even after Adam’s pleas on here for people to do so. They will go where the interest is I suppose.
Yesterday when I got in the car I did hear Lumsden having a pop but reached my destination before hearing the rest.
To me, if we get the full game commentary that is enough for those who aren’t there to see it, anything else is a bonus
