Match officials call off the Bradford game
Club statement:
We’re very disappointed to announce that the match officials have called today’s Sky Bet League Two match against Bradford City off.
We believe the pitch is in a playable state and are extremely disappointed by this outcome.
A rearranged date for the fixture and ticket information for that match will be released in due course.
Following this matter, we’ll put a complaint towards the EFL.
We will be conducting an open training session this afternoon at the SO Legal Stadium instead.

Re: Match postponed
If the pitch wasn't passed as playable by the match referee, surely training on it wont help matters, or are Barrow trying to prove a point to the EFL by holding a practice on it, when the Bradford game should of taken place. The club will also take a financial hit, hospitality, food/ drinks match day programmes, will all of been prepared, plus it will be a lower attendance when re-arranged for mid-week. Some of these referees have no common sence, remember some of the pitches years gone by. Baseball Ground, Derby, Maine Road Man City, spring to mind, shocking.

Small patch near the goal line at hs end. Rest of pitch was perfect. In fact they put the sprinklers on after they'd finishedBarrowCymro wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:30 pm If the pitch wasn't passed as playable by the match referee, surely training on it wont help matters, or are Barrow trying to prove a point to the EFL by holding a practice on it, when the Bradford game should of taken place. They didn't play on the area the ref said couldn't be played on - they shortened the pitch.BarrowCymro wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:30 pm If the pitch wasn't passed as playable by the match referee, surely training on it wont help matters, or are Barrow trying to prove a point to the EFL by holding a practice on it, when the Bradford game should of taken place. Re: Match postponed
What can be done to make the troublesome patch playable before the next home match?
I'm sure the EFL will be on our case and not in a good way.
