I think you misunderstand the situation. You will still be able to buy a pass from NowTV to watch any Barrow game outside of the Saturday 3:00 p.m. slot as you can with iFollow. What Sky is promising above and beyond that is more games that will be networked on their sport channels.Methuselah wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:13 pm Like I have already said if I buy a Now TV pass on a weekday when Barrow are playing only to find that Sky have decided not to show the game, can I then claim a refund. At the moment when I pay to watch Barrow on I F ollow I get to watch the match I pay for not some random match that Sky select. As I don,t have Sky how am I going to know whether or not our match is going to be shown? Will.we be given notification by the club?As lifetime supporter I only want to watch my own club, thats why I think I Follow was better for people who do not have Sky.![]()

Goes to us (VAT) and Sky (rest).MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 11:36 am And another thing...With iFollow the club receives the £10 less tax and admin. Who will get the £11.99 paid to NOW TV?
Sky then pay EFL the agreed amount which EFL in turn distribute among clubs in an agreed manner.

Re: I follow
As for Mr Holt's Tweets, I'm not clear what his point is.
Should all EFL clubs benefit equally from the Sky deal? Should the benefit reflect current income. expenses, attendance, indebtedness, some other factor? Should gate money be shared in some way? What about non-match day income?

(I am guessing he is putting down a marker for more money for smaller clubs than currently proposed.)

Andy Holt has constantly been at war with iFollow regards the fact that clubs would profit from sales of a game which his club would front the costs for streamingHadrian wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 6:21 pm As for Mr Holt's Tweets, I'm not clear what his point is.

So he’s basically just referring to the fact that under this new regime regards televising of games - financially the money would be split equally around the division not because Wrexham have more people watching the game online than Accrington

Re: I follow
Sky have said they will announce all live games up to fa cup 3rd round weekend before the season starts so at least for the first half of the season there won’t be any late fixture changes to accommodate tv

Re: I follow
I know people are not happy but surely the money the club will get is far more important .
Re: I follow
So with our smaller fan base, this would be advantageous to us.Adam29 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 6:29 pm

Simply having a VPN doesn't enable you to access any games. I have a VPN but not for that purpose.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 10:43 am There is a way to see Saturday games now - home or away, and that is to subscribe to a Virtual Private Network. Do that, change the country, and then go to the club website and pay in the normal way. I am told that this is not illegal, whereas 'dodgy sticks' are, and the club benefits from people who can't get to a game, for whatever reason.
You'd have to 'Jailbreak' a Firestick or subscribe to a dodgy streaming app.
Or visit a local pub - we visit one to watch our away games if we don't travel.

None of that is necessary. Go to 'Paris' or any country you want to on your VPN, then go onto the official Barrow website, pay your £10 - or 11 euros - and you can watch the match and the club benefits. Nothing dodgy about that!Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 5:40 pmSimply having a VPN doesn't enable you to access any games. Having a VPN and setting it to a different country allows you to watch Saturday games at 3pm kick off via Ifollow buy making payment on the club website.Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 5:40 pmSimply having a VPN doesn't enable you to access any games. Or
You can use an IPTV provider and watch all games for the cost of the iptv package - around 40-60 a year but the club gets nothing and it’s legally frowned up on.

The law states that it is illegal to distribute copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright owner. IPTV providers that offer channels that are copyrighted without the permission of the copyright owner are breaking the law. Providers of dodgy sticks are already being prosecuted.

Re: I follow
The reason these dodgy sticks came into being is because people have decided that these conglomerates ie Sky are overcharging for their services. If they charged a fair price most people would go down the legal route. Some people call it the free market, but where that.market is running out of control and overcharging people for a minimum service it should be brought to heel by regulation. If successive governments aren,t prepared to take the big boys on people will always find a way around the overcharging. Now Blues Supporter do you not think your efforts might be better served in trying to rein in some of these big boys who are obviously ripping people off than quoting what you think the law is?
