That argument doesn't stack up , you can't have it both ways, criticise Sky etc BUT we get a lot of money from SKY and the Premier league ,where do you thinkthis money comes from?, these amounts we could only dream of when we were in the National league! , you mentioned overcharging, I've got Sky sports for £20 a month you're offering to pay £10 for I follow ! ,as the advert says " you do the maths " !Methuselah wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:21 am The reason these dodgy sticks came into being is because people have decided that these conglomerates ie Sky are overcharging for their services. If they charged a fair price most people would go down the legal route. Some people call it the free market, but where that.market is running out of control and overcharging people for a minimum service it should be brought to heel by regulation. If successive governments aren,t prepared to take the big boys on people will always find a way around the overcharging. Now Blues Supporter do you not think your efforts might be better served in trying to rein in some of these big boys who are obviously ripping people off than quoting what you think the law is?

Re: I follow
Supporter's want ground improvements new players ticket price reduction when we have 2/3 consecutive home games and one of the lowest average home crowds, the BOD don't have a magic money tree.

Also the reason the dodgy sticks are available is that those who produce and sell them are making money - illegally!
As I said earlier if you want to watch a Barrow match on a Saturday afternoon, forget the illegal route which gives your club nothing, and go down the legal VPN route and go onto the club website and pay the going rate, part of which goes to the club in the normal way.
Or maybe you prefer to line the pockets of the providers and distributors of dodgy sticks!

Re: I follow
I agree regarding using the legal VPN route that would give Barrow money but IPTV and so called dodgy sticks offer so much more than just watching Barrow games at a fraction of the price it costs to signing up to all the different subscription packages.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 4:25 pmSo what is the law?Methuselah wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:21 am Now Blues Supporter do you not think your efforts might be better served in trying to rein in some of these big boys who are obviously ripping people off than quoting what you think the law is?

Re: I follow
I pay £27 a month for my internet and being retired I can,t afford to pay for a Sky package after buying my season ticket.I don,t mind paying to watch the Barrow games that are shown during the week because there are not that many of them and the money goes to the club. The rest of the time I either go to the odd away game or listen on the radio.£240 a year is more than I can afford.Having supported Barrow since the early 1960s I have never been interested in other clubs.Whilst I have never owned a dodgy stick I can sympathise with the people that have them. The true sports fan is gradually being priced out of the market by the constant increase in the cost of packages. You said to me do the maths, but your maths is too expensive for a lot of people.blue nige wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:52 amThat argument doesn't stack up , you can't have it both ways, criticise Sky etc BUT we get a lot of money from SKY and the Premier league ,where do you thinkthis money comes from?, these amounts we could only dream of when we were in the National league! , you mentioned overcharging, I've got Sky sports for £20 a month you're offering to pay £10 for I follow ! ,as the advert says " you do the maths " !Methuselah wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:21 am The reason these dodgy sticks came into being is because people have decided that these conglomerates ie Sky are overcharging for their services. If they charged a fair price most people would go down the legal route. Re: I follow
Re:- What you said above.£10 for a midweek game or when there is an international break is still cheaper than £240 a year which is more than some people can afford.(Basic economics)There may only be six away Barrow matches available to watch on I follow live during a season. That kind of figure is more affordable if you are on a limited budget.Watching football on television is being put out of reach for a lot of people.
Re: I follow
Does this mean that ,if you live outside the Radio Cumbria live broadcast reception area, there is no means to listen to BAFC RC match commentary? I've just received an email confirming cancellation of my ifollow Audio Pass, as from 1 July.

Re: I follow
Audio commentary will continue
The company who ran the websites for the EFL is changing so likelihood that is why it’s been cancelled
Re: I follow
Cheers Adam. Listening to Commentary, alone, is much more nerve wracking than watching. Probably a reflection of the great way you do it.

Re: I follow
That is a very poor email from EFL Digital which does not explain the situation at all.
Don't let the old man in.
Re: I follow
My skys due for renewal, anyone understand which package you need to get to watch the league 2 games next season? Tried to push me to get the Premier league channel which I’m not interested in but want our games and maybe league 1
