Clemence has won more games at Gillingham than Dunn has in his entire managerial career.Bombadel wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:51 amPlaying at the top level (250 appearances in the prem and football league) there isn’t the same financial pressure to succeed. Doesn’t Clemence have a family and mortgage? What makes you say he’s not keen to be a success?

Re: Barrow’s next manager
Maybe we are going to get Clemence as head coach with Baines as his assistant
Re: Barrow’s next manager
Gillingham owners net worth 60-80 million, Clemence had a 35 % win rate in his time there. Barrow owners have no where near that and wild had a 37% win rate. Feels like a step back, but it is what it is.Matty wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 10:48 amClemence has won more games at Gillingham than Dunn has in his entire managerial career.Bombadel wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:51 am

Re: Barrow’s next manager
That might be the worth of the Gillingham owners but even there own fans were frustrated by the owners failure to back the manager in the January window
Re: Barrow’s next manager
Our win rate under Wild in April was 0%. You can't use stats like that they can always be manipulated. I believe Clemence took over a Gills team going backwards in mid season so he apparently did quite well. Anyway there's nothing confirmed yet.
Re: Barrow’s next manager
If we appointed Klopp or Guardiola there would be dissenters on here. Its the nature of football fans at this level. On the subject of candidates 'qualifications' I would go back to my Holker St roots in the 60's. McEvoy,Appleton,Halom,Wilkie,Lowe,Bayliss,Sheridan,Edmo,Evatt and Wild the most comparatively succesful 'managers' in my time with barely a coaching certificate between them and the bare minimum of previous experience in the hot seat yet they didn't do too badly.Whoever gets the job its a gamble buts lets get behind them. I trust in Wood and Co to get it right. Due diligence I'm sure will have been done after the Dunn era fiasco.

Re: Barrow’s next manager
Confirmed stephen clemence, seems to be a good appointment and hopefully the board back him, could be gold or bust.
Re: Barrow’s next manager
Best of luck to him now let's give him all the backing we can .
Re: Barrow’s next manager
32 goals scored in 30 games at Gillingham.

Hell of a record for a midfielder

Gonna need a new song. "We got Clemence, Clemence, Clemence" clearly doesn't work.

Re: Barrow’s next manager
I'm feeling a bit underwhelmed with this tbh...but here's hoping the board know what they are doing.
