The fuss is it's another time where supporters may have to miss the game or use holidays etc but that's OK isn't it ?

How did the midweek attendances do last season with all these supporters unable to attend.

For many years now are Tuesday night attendances have been down on Saturday 3.00pm KO. The TV deal is poor and in a couple of seasons the lower league clubs will regret it but no going back now the die has been cast. They reap what they sow

Your right on both points, we're down around at least 300/ 400 in midweek games and less people use corporate we'll also lose out because people ( if it's a bad night will either illegally stream it or stay home and watch it on sky)
But as someone said what's all the fuss about!

Just to add I'm a season ticket 🎟 holder so I've paid but this doesn't detract from my views on this extra day !

It's the short sighted folk that say "what's all the fuss about" They can't see further than the pound signs and think £300k is a lot of money. It will soon be eaten into with attendance drops and greedy agents sighting the increased TV money as a wage rise for clients looking for new contracts. The lower league clubs IMO wont be any better off in the long run.

Apologies for having a short sighted view on this but for the sake of one or two Thursday night matches it’s not worth getting all bent out of shape over.
I used to work shifts in the yard and would finish work and head straight up to Holker Street with time to spare. If you want to go, you will.

Agree that those who really want to go will still go so most of us on here will go no matter what or when. But it’s the floaters of whom there are many who will be put off going.

Aye, we need fewer midweek games, not more. Hospitality/the main stand and the terraces are noticeably more sparse for midweek games.

More difficult for away fans than on a weekend too.

Why do you not want to watch your football team on a Thursday?

Its too near the weekend. Families that are on a fairly tight budget and having to plan ahead might be tempted or encouraged to save that would be gate money for family weekend activities less it run out.

would your logic not apply to a Tuesday night?

Sky have to wait until the fixtures come out but they have said they will publish all the planned televised games up to January 2025 once they are out

I note that in May Sky (which owns NowTV) increased the price of day membership to £14.99, a 25% increase on the previous price and 50% higher than the cost of iFollow last season.

The clubs have obviously forgotten about their supporters £15 to watch your team play as opposed to the £10 it used to be is robbery.How do they justify a 50 percent increase when inflation is currently running at 2 percent.Legislation needs bringing in to prevent this blatant overcharging.Please don,t say it,s nothing to do with the clubs,they signed the deal so are responsible.Not enough due diligence was done so that people who only wanted to watch their own team play an away midweek match were able to.People on low incomes will simply be unable go watch in future.Basically if you cannot afford Sky or Now TV you will not be able to watch in future.IFollow was a much fairer deal for the supporters.

If you were at the Q&A Paul Hornby went into the facts and figures

Because of the fire stick generation the club made around 15/20k from iFollow due to not many people choosing to “purchase” a match pass to watch the games and using fire sticks etc

This deal is worth £300k which is guaranteed whether joe bloggs down the road is watching it on sky, firestick or any other means

I do not blame the clubs for agreeing to this deal

I get, from the club's point of view, that it makes sense but as someone who can't get to every game and who DID use iFollow and not a firestick I can't help the feeling of being screwed by Sky.

Paying roughly the same as a single entry ticket to the ground to watch on TV seems about right to me. (Don't forget some will be paying that amount for more than one person watching, too.)
