Stockport fans seem to be under the illusion the game was meant to be at FC United; pretty tinpot from whoever does their fixtures if they’ve only just realised today that it’s at Holker Street

On Stockport official website :-

Due to a change in our training schedule this week, Tuesday night’s scheduled pre-season fixture away at Barrow has now been cancelled.

Yep, think we played a championship team in a behind closed doors instead.

Hopefully do the pitch a bit of good around the bald patches Gareth will be pleased a full week to work on it.

Aye there’s quite a few wee sand bunkers about, it is the Open week though! Still doing remarkably well all things considered, as I A’s well appointed photo shows. The rain and warmth last couple of days and the game off Tuesday will benefit it greatly though.

Yea
It isn’t barrow who have called Tuesday off - it was Stockport

They have just returned from Spain where they played Derby in a 'friendly' and picked up two or three injuries.Makes me wonder if this and the travelling have clouded their decision. Challinor himself claimed he thought the game was behind closed doors in Manchester, Does he not have any input to fixtures ? Perhaps its left to the girl on reception.Still this will give us chance to get over knocks from Killie and get reorganised so every cloud.

Stockport are hosting Stoke on Saturday a game initially billed as two separate 60 minute games with each team fielding two completely separate line-ups in both. It has now reverted to a standard 90 minute affair because (according to County fans not the club) they haven't got enough fit players to fulfil that obligation.

For a so called big club whose supporters call Holker St a Shit Hole and Barrow AFC Tin Pot Outfit with Dave Challinor thinking it was behind closed doors at FC United, they don,t seem very well organised.Well you know what they say Pride comes before a Fall.

I suppose the thought of coming to Barrow in Furness after the delights of Spain was not exactly an alluring one!
