It does not excuse an egregious and cynical 50% increase over last season's iFollow price nor, indeed, 25% on the precise comparison (the NowTV day pass). It's great that the club will receive the £300,000 but Sky will have done its calculations and know damned fine it'll get its money back from increased subscriptions and advertising. But, yeah, we have the choice - pay or don't pay. We can always rely on Adam's commentary which paints the picture, anyway. :)
It’s not just Sky that the deal benefits. £300k over 23 home league games is just over £13k a game, or the equivalent of 650 fans coming through the turnstiles paying £20 a match. It’s big money for a club our size. It will be interesting to see how our average home crowd and away fans visiting HS is impacted, but I guess the deal was sweet enough to buffer this.

I agree with that going from £10 to £15 for individual games is a big hike but let’s see what the quality of the coverage and commentary is like. Ifollow only joined the game at a minutes before kickoff and there was little analysis at HT or FT. Not sure if this will change with Sky coverage.

League 2 clubs are only getting 25% more than the previous tv deal so it's hardly a game changer. Im not sure the inevitable drop in attendances for televised games will be buffered by this deal. Info on deal in link below.

CBS Sports has agreed a deal with the EFL to show games in the USA via Paramount+. Unless I'm missing something there is no mention of any money!

Does that mean that if I take out Paramount + over here I,ll be able to watch our games as ot would be a lot cheaper than Sky.

A VPN set to the USA might work with that.

You would still have to get a different account as the paramount+ in the UK is not the same Paramount+ in the US

I confess not to know the ins and out of Paramount + but, with your VPN set to USA, wouldn't this fool the website into thinking you were over there and give you USA content?

It might at that. I know it works with the team I follow " TV " website. They offer live video if you're outside the UK and don't bother if you use a UK payment card. So with a VPN and you're sorted for live games. But yeah Paramount might block you on the card, be worth a try though.

Just to add a bit more info here, I've contacted the EFL and they confirm iFollow commentary (i.e. BBC Radio Cumbria) via the club's website will be available as per previous seasons (which we knew) and it will be at the same price: £45 p.a. or £4.49 per month. They also confirm a match highlights package will be available as in the past.

That’s good - I don’t want to give Sky my money, but I enjoy listening to Adam’s commentary and if it was a good match, watching the full match reply on the club website. To be honest, I will try to get to more matches, especially away matches within a couple of hours of Derbyshire (there are at least 12).

I do like the huge billboard at the end of Hibbert Road. Never seen the Barrow badge so big!
