Well I didn't expect that. ! Newby was a revelation on the right hand side and Neo backed him up well, our energy in the midfield was key, we kept picking them off on the counter attacks and all the goals were absolutely brilliant, those that stayed away missed a second half that I haven't witnessed for years FABULOUS 👏

First off- let’s hope Mahoney is ok but not sure Clemence would have put Newby in there if it wasn’t for the need to bring Mahoney off. It just clicked with Kouyate on the left and Newby on the right we were outstanding and created chance after chance after a very even first half. At HT I thought one goal either way would nick it. Can’t give enough praise for the whole team today- but it’s in the middle where we are outstanding with Gotts/ Campbell and Spence as good as any in the middle.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

FORZA BLUEBIRDS, just fantastico. Sat here dying with 94F heat, what l would have given to be at Holker Street today. Really good start to the season, goals and a clean sheet what more could you ask! Will enjoy my Italian beer even more this evening. Bluebird per sempre.

Early assessment is that both Mahoney and Feely unlikely to be available through to next weekend.
Don't let the old man in.

Great result ...and a fine second half performance too ...something to build on now ...and right up there in the mix ...Early days , I know , but it shows what we can do when we really click.
First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )

It was a long post mortem from the gloomy trio on Radio C tonight but we finally got to Clemence just before the programme finished.
