he was a centre half before he became a keeper.

Re: Fleetwood - EFL Trophy
Still young but Kouyate needs a bit more end product, too often gets himself into good positions and loses the ball when there's a pass or cross on.
Popular side since '03.

Re: Fleetwood - EFL Trophy
I don't think farman will be very worried about having to win his place back
Re: Fleetwood - EFL Trophy
2 Stanway errors.
Glad it’s a cup game not a league game.

I know, hence the suggestion. Confidence is everything his must be shot at right now in what essentially is a B team game.

Re: Fleetwood - EFL Trophy
not too bothered by the result in this, but am interested in how the fringe players perform;-
Weston looks like he'd be able to play the Dean Campbell roll well if Campbell is ever injured or suspended.
Tiensia was disappointing again.
Garner is frustrating as ever away from home - seems to always do better at home.

Been a struggle without a natural wide player on the right, absolutely everything coming down Kouyates side …. I remember Tiensia being a lot better than what he’s shown so far.

I’ve just said the same. It could do Stanway more harm than good keeping him in when he’s making mistakes every game almost. Doesn’t help when you’re a keeper in that a mistake more often than not results in a goal but it isn’t good for confidence.
Daniel’s experience will hopefully settle the defence down too and will be like when Lillis used to fill in unnoticed for Farman last season.

Re: Fleetwood - EFL Trophy
Regards Stanway, he is still in his infancy as a goalkeeper and the step up from Chester to playing regular League 2 football is huge. Yes he has to learn and as with Farman’s sending off he can cover for a game or 2 but the reported 6-8 weeks that Farman could be out for may equate to 10 games or more and at the minute that looks an awfully long time to be without an.experienced keeper. Without deliberately making it sound like a crisis that could be a lot of points dropped and potentially damage the season before Farman even gets back and even then he won’t be 100% match sharp! Even worse scenario is bring him back too early if things continue to go wrong and he ends up out for weeks again and that’s us totally screwed and the season is already over! No you don’t want to dent Stanway’s confidence by bringing someone else in but the bigger picture for the team and the season as a whole needs to considered. Big decision that Clemence has to make here IMO

Re: Fleetwood - EFL Trophy
Poor clearance from Stanway again lucky to get away with that. I have to say I agree about Daniels playing saturday. I think there's a very good keeper in Stanway but when you're making errors as a keeper there's simply nowhere to hide. That being said a clean sheet in a derby game could be the kick start he needs to refind his confidence. Plenty for clemence to ponder
