Re: January Signings?
Let the current squad get on with it no need to waste money on more players in January all should be capable of making sure we are in league 2 next season, if not so be it

Definitely shoulda kept Ray. His enthusiasm and energy gave the team something we don't currently have!

George Ray was offered a 12 month deal but turned it down he wanted two years The club never offered an improved offer so released him. He signed for Morecambe on a one year deal with another years option.Louis29 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 1:52 pmHe wasnt offered anythingMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 11:30 am

Re: January Signings?
I am but you're obviously not!
17 goals conceded in 18 matches. Only 3 clubs with less goals conceded and then only by 1 goal.
18 goals scored in 18 matches. Only 4 clubs with less goals scored.
You'd have to be completely obtuse not to see that the problems are not in defence but in attack.
Re: January Signings?
Can’t argue with this. Our lack of cutting edge in front of goal is the reason we have slipped to mid table, it’s a big ask defensively to hold on to slender leads. We have no players anywhere near the top 30 goals scorers in EFL2 yet we have two players in the top 10 for assists- Newby and Jackson. Both sending in deliveries from out wide.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 4:45 pmI am but you're obviously not!

I don’t think it’s going to work for Telford here and think he needs to move on. We need a different type of forward. Dare I say it an old fashioned number 9 who can manage the battle with L2 Centre half’s and get on the end of these deliveries in the air and on the deck. Nothing comes through the middle.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Re: January Signings?
2 forwards capable of putting the ball in the net, that’s what we need, otherwise I’m concerned.

Re: January Signings?
Watched morecambe at the weekend . White was still falling over and buying free kicks. And Ray didn't play so presume he's injured.

Re: January Signings?
FFS ,this thread is about January signings. Why you going on about ex players, and defenders, anyone with half a brain knows we next 1 or 2 forwards, who actually know where the net is.
Re: January Signings?
Sheffield United have a good lad who may be available for loan ... Ryan One ... prolific in the Scottish league from the age of 16 ...and now, at 18, already making occasional appearances in the first team . Big, relatively fast ...and direct . Worth a look maybe ?
First match : Barrow v Northampton Town : Sat. 24th Sept. 1960 ... won 1-0... ( which was nice )

Re: January Signings?
If he's making occasional appearances in the first team do you think he'd want or they would let him come to Barrow? A loan maybe with an immediate recall clause but I think that's as far as it would go.kikka wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 10:04 am Sheffield United have a good lad who may be available for loan ... Re: January Signings?
I think we need a goalkeeper, some defenders, some midfielders and some strikers.
Popular side since '03.
