Just seen the Clemence interview the club have put on twitter. Depressing to say the least but looked like a man who knows his time is up to me

Get him gone. Not bothered about “style of play” or any other shite. Just get someone in who can get the lads playing for the shirt and each other. Absolutely dismal display today

Clemence was doing a post match interview for the media, it was running late and not before the Radio Cumbria Post match show finished.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:19 pm I don't agree that Canavan was good in his interview with Adam. I found it depressing. It was cliche-ridden - "got to step up, step forward" etc. etc - and he really offered very little explanation as to why it was so bad other than the usual "we were lax at the back and didn't do enough up front". Neither did I get the impression they were kicking lumps out of each other in the dressing room (figuratively, not literally).
But, this is the second occasion when, on the back of a dire performance, a player has been sent out to do the post-match.
Presumably lots of harsh words being said in the dressing room.

Who gave these players such long contracts? Wood. Did someone say he used to be an agent? Perhaps it’s once an agent always an agent!Hawcoat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:31 pm
Recruitment is key, we all knew these 4 strikers weren't going to get the goals required to keep us in the play off mix unfortunately all were signed on decent contracts with a year or two to go hence why no other club will take them off our hands. Wood, Clemence and the board need to get it right ASAP in terms of players and contract lengths.
Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
Usually after we lose I keep it zipped and make a point of staying away from this forum. I can't do that this time. That was unacceptable. The first ten minutes set the tone for the match when they had 6 corners. They didn't make them count but in due course they got the win they earned and deserved. They were far more committed than we were, far more up for it. I can take defeats but I can't take a lack of passion and commitment. In the post-match interview Canavan summed it up as "rubbish". Correct. But he also said there's no lack of effort. Can't agree with that. They were thoroughly "outefforted" by a team that had been even worse than us recently. He also said the mood in the dressing room afterwards was "a bit angry". It should be a lot angry. I don't like to witness such a lack of character in any Barrow team but they deserve severe condemnation for that showing today. We battled against Bradford without playing particularly well but today was well below even that level.

How did the board entrust such a powerful position on a football agent? This question hasn’t been asked enough. Wood is just as guilty as clemence.
Won’t be spending a penny in the ground or on the club shop until this shite is sorted

Totally agree.. as supporters all we ask is that the team gives it heart n soul. We saw that against Bradford but today was like watching people [SwearFilter] about without a care in the world.pjdaly wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:43 pm Usually after we lose I keep it zipped and make a point of staying away from this forum. It's disheartening to see such a lacklustre performance, it's like they disrespect the shirt they wear and that for me is the biggest insult for any fan.
Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
We are all disappointed in the result however look where we are compared to 5 years ago. To be in the position to complain about lower midtable league 2 Barrow side was a pipe dream not so long ago. The board deserve all the credit and we have to show up and support the team anyway we can through the good and the bad.
Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
I think you are 100% correct with regards to the striker situation. The lack of goals has not just happened under Clemence. He knows that we struggled for goals last season and he's now trying to work with the same problems Wild faced. So many have made their mind up now that they want Clemence gone but it was the lack of quality in front of goal that cost us today and once again we are relying on the defence to hold out for the game. It cant go on that way.Hawcoat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:31 pmThis is a fair point. To be a sustainable football club we can't afford to be paying off managers and assistants who are on multi year contracts every season. A dire performance without a doubt but we have enough to stay up (I think).Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:23 pm The board will be concerned themselves but he’s their man, they brought him in with Wood’s recommendation and they think very highly and trust Wood. Can we really afford to make another change at the top or does the board trust Clemence with the window to do enough to maintain a mid table position and save a pay off. Thats the risk to balance.
The while post match BBCRC is dominated by Carlisle position. They have the money, they will buy themselves out of trouble and they can take the hit of replacing Williamson. I think we are in a far different position.

Hopefully the lot of harsh words were said against him. He needs to go now!!!!saltcellar wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:41 pmClemence was doing a post match interview for the media, it was running late and not before the Radio Cumbria Post match show finished.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:19 pm I don't agree that Canavan was good in his interview with Adam. Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
That was a performance so dire that words almost fail me. One of the worst in many a year. The penalty miss was the cherry on the cake and so bad that I wondered whether Mahoney actually deliberately tried to miss.
I’ve moved into the Clemence out camp I’m afraid. Apart from being utterly abject, it was totally disrespectful to the manager and to me shows that he cannot now control the dressing room. He is a dead man walking - whether the Owners want to get rid or not.

With a bit of luck, Morecambe will take Garner from.is again. Nothing personal against the lad but in a barrow shirt, he just doesn't cut it!

Fully grown men (Mahoney and Newby) who pull out of tackles and headers. Its embarrassing
I have to agree with this, I'm struggling to think of another Barrow side that pulled out of tackles as much as this lot, with the exception of Robbie Gotts, the smallest player on the pitch who shows more heart than the rest of the team put together.

Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread
Why do people always say we need strikers? We could have Salah and Haaland up front and still not score, we create nothing apart from a few poor balls whipped in, there's normally one player in the box, it's to do with tactics why we don't score, when was the last time we seen a midfielder bursting into the box to get on the end of a ball?.....Sorry but that's down to coaching and tactics !!!!!
