Not good enough
Just writing this post as I was pounced upon at the start of the season by the majority on here. When I said the squad and strikers weren’t good enough to compete at this level.

Re: Not good enough
And admittance that none of you have a clue.
Re: Not good enough
We are all as [SwearFilter] off with how it’s gone not just today but in most of the games but there’s no point scoring to be had here. Think the vast majority of fans would recognise we were short on quality in key areas and that passed us by in the last close season because too many of the players we had were contracted for this season. The debate is whether a change of Manager / coach (Clemence) could improve that. Think we are seeing the answer to that in the results.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Re: Not good enough
A clue about what? Your own personal thoughts on things??
If you didn't like SC from the off then that's your own choice and decision..
The first half dozen games or so at the start of the season we looked very good, we played well and we just looked a good solid outfit.
The big question anyone needs to ask is wtf has happened?? Yes we got key players out injured but bloody hell, we should have still been in the top 6 based on that start! So what's going on..??

Re: Not good enough
I'm beginning to think woods is the problem.
Similar scenario with PW perhaps?
It's easy to blame SC but I do wonder...

Who brought in Clemence? Wood.
Who brought in most of the recent players? Wood.
Who has worked his way onto the Board after a supposed interest from Carlisle? Wood.
Who should go? Clemence and Wood.

If that's the case was Paul Hornby lying when he said he interviewed Clemence and really liked his vision etc into how he was going to play exciting attacking football?bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:33 pmI agree.olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:03 pm I'm beginning to think woods is the problem.

Of course he wasn’t lying, but it’s just a pity he didn’t put a clause into his contract that said if you fail to play exciting attacking football we can sack you without severance pay.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 8:03 pmIf that's the case was Paul Hornby lying when he said he interviewed Clemence and really liked his vision etc into how he was going to play exciting attacking football?bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 6:33 pm

A lot of jobs have targets attached and if those targets aren’t achieved then the employee faces the consequences. It’s a pity football in general doesn’t bring in such clauses into players and managers contracts, but of course football would grind to a halt if that was done.
MDs, Head Coaches and players of all clubs have got BODs over a barrel. but I still thank our Board for all they have done and continue to do to keep football in the town.
It’s a thankless task.
When it works it’s great, but at the moment something is not right in that dressing room, and I’d love to know what it is.

Re: Not good enough
You're not alone. A few of us have been saying the same thing even when we were near the top of league and squeaking 1-0 wins based on a good defence as you don't get away with doing that for too long when you have a non-existent attack.SteveMcnultyThighs wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 5:00 pm Just writing this post as I was pounced upon at the start of the season by the majority on here. If that's the best you can offer don't bother because you obviously can't understand what a forum is for !Roadrunner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:10 am I do wish that all you nice children would play nicely and stop squabbling!

Re: Not good enough
FWIW and yes I know football isn’t played on paper I still think we have enough quality (especially this year when the division in a poorer standard than it has been) on paper that we shouldn’t be struggling as much as we are. Farman, Jackson, Canavan, Vassell, Gotts, Spence, Campbell and Mahoney are all decent enough players at this level in theory that we shouldn’t be struggling as much as we are
