Farman indecision going to cost us yet again

Just watched the highlights.

For all his brilliant saves, I've been saying for a long time that Farman rarely intercepts high balls in the 6-yard box, which a goalie owns. Harrogate headed the ball in from 2-3 yards - See X - that's FARMAN'S BALL but he's glued to the line. His inability or lack of confidence to collect these balls is a massive FLAW in his game and the goalkeeping coach should urgently address it.

Mahoney's 'David Beckham' penalty was the worst effort I've seen in a long time. See X.

2 huge errors, otherwise a 1 - 1 result.

Sat behind the goals in the first half. Time after time at corners we didn't pick up Muldoon who was left unmarked on the line by the back post. We all could see it but no one on the pitch picked it up.

I assumed that was out of date but it isn't and I have. I guess it may not be available for long.

I think you were just in time. Before yesterday's match Oddschecker was showing 100/1 with Bedfred, Betfair, Paddy Power and Sky Bet. After the game only Betfred was still 100/1. Now the best showing is 50/1.

I won't bore anyone further after this, but yes it's gone from 100-1 to 33s since this morning, and I'm already being offered a cash out option which would be the easiest 8 quid I'd ever get...

We wouldn't be discussing FARMAN if we had a decent striker. Our goals against total is 26 in 24 games which isn't too bad; BUT we've only managed to score 23 . Which is pathetic.
The slide shows no sign of stopping , even though we got a point v Bradford we were a poor second in reality . I am of the opinion that drastic action is needed at this point of the season whilst it's still salvageable . We do not want to return to non league.

Ive said this for 2 years now. It starts at the back. He doesnt come for anything at all, wont come off his line but has got away with it because his shot stopping is decent and most on here havent got a clue. Hes poor.

Look at Belshaw, came and punched 3 or 4, caught crosses to take the pressure off his defenders

Farman got involved, unnecessarily imo, with someone behind the goals in the second half yesterday. He's got his faults, seems almost glued to his line at times, wants to take all our free-kicks when they're awarded in our half which, again, needs sorting and quickly he's terrible with these but, when you're not having a good day at work the last thing you need is getting bawled out. He should've ignored it but didn't. Couldn't hear what was said but it didn't seem humorous or in anyway positive.
Dodger: you're missing my point regarding Newby/Gotts. I like them both, but for me they're far too similar. Everything's a hundred miles an hour with them, with little end product and let's face facts they don't score nearly enough goals. We can only afford one of these in a starting line-up. We're desperate for an enforcer in the middle as well as a decent striker up front. Or maybe we're just desperate!

Yes I saw that myself and I couldn’t believe my eyes when they were arguing. I did speak to a steward after the incident as the words were nasty and my guide dog didn’t enjoy it

Acquahs inability to hold up the ball and bring others into the game
Farmans inability to command his six yard box, as usual

Can you give a fair assessment of the previous 12 games before yesterday for some balance.

Farman cost us 4 points in the 2 previous games over the holidays.

New Years Day v Bradford. He allowed a 30-yard free kick from No. 29 in the 86th minute to drift into the goal, when he had plenty of time to judge its trajectory, yet he remained fixed on his line with his feet seemingly cemented in concrete. Ball - see X. We were winning 2-1 at the time. Result 2-2. 2 points given away.

Dec. 29 v Tranmere. He gave away a blatant and unnecessary penalty. Ball - see X. We were winning 1-0 at the time. Result 1-1. 2 points given away.

Yes, its quite clear we're not scoring enough goals but in these 2 games we were AHEAD until Farman screwed-up and he is solely responsible for 3 goals allowed in the last 3 games. He should be dropped as Stanway does make the effort to catch high balls in the 6-yard and 18-yard box and doesn't give away stupid penalties.

PS: If Stanway is selected I might be tempted to forgo my F&C with hot curry sauce for an admission ticket.
