Morecambe trailing to a third minute goal by Doncaster but now up against ten men (Donnys' Senior sent off with 20 mins left)

I get that Carlisle and Morecambe are probably playing better than results suggest, but they're running out of games. Twenty minutes with a man advantage and losing must hurt morale.

We are 30 odd games into the season how are they better than results suggest? They are where they are for a reason. Being shite

As the games run out the pressure builds and wins become harder to get. I suspect 40 points might be enough to keep you league 2 this season

I'd be interested to know from some of the worriers that post in the Carlisle thread how five of six of the following teams will be far (and I mean far) superior in terms of points accumulation to ourselves between now and the end of the season:

- Carlisle
- Morecambe
- Tranmere
- Accrington
- Harrogate
- Gillingham

Makes the notion that we will soon only have a three point cushion as one person suggested on Sunday seem a little bit more odd.
Popular side since '03.

I am led to believe Carlisle are playing well following the changes in personnel but not taking their chances. If you want to distill that down to 'being shite' that's up to you.

Morecambe have started to play a bit better as of late and, against Colchester, Carlisle weren't half as shite as they have been - I think they could well blow Gillingham out of the water this coming Saturday.

Watched the Morecambe game tonight. They were bright in patches but ….and this is the real deal breaker…..could not score. There was definitely an opportunity there but they weren’t good enough to take even against 10 men. Oh and that pitch of there’s makes HS look like Wembley.

Carlisle are where they are because they don’t score enough despite looking decent and creating opportunities. This often passes for being unlucky because the box- to-box stuff looks good. That’s exactly how we looked under Clemence. It’s already clear that Whing is a different beast. Win or lose.

None of those teams in that list are scoring enough goals regularly enough. So what is going to happen to change this?

Fair comment. I guess what might change for Carlisle potentially is that the new signings might form more of an understanding and become a better unit. But equally they may not.

Good to hear Garner and Dallas drew blanks tonight. I actually rate Tollit more than them and he only came on as a sub near the end. The bottom line is don't worry about Carlisle. As long as there are two teams lower than us after 46 games then we will have made it. However, I don't want it to go to the last game & really its all in our hands & at least we are beginning to score goals.

One of the most depressing facts regarding us is our awful away form Since we beat Crewe 14 months ago (what a performance) we have only won two games away since then. If only this Saturday could be the start of a better away record I would be more than happy.

Only watched the first half of the Morecambe game so that’s all I can comment on but I thought it was a very poor game, you’d expect that of a team in the bottom two but you’d expect better of a team at the other end of the table (Donny).

If playing Garner & Dallas are their “strongest” options they must be truly terrible with their second choices. Dallas did what he did when here, he tries and made a nuisance of himself, Garner also did what he did here - nothing.

Three points must be a realistic target for us in a few weeks time. Although……
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

There are 15 games left yet lots more twists and turns but if we were to just pick up 10 points between now and the end of the season (I suspect it will be more) then carlisle would need 25 points from 15 games to catch us 26 to go ahead and Morecame 21 points from 14 games to catch us. No evidence to suggest either of them will.

Obviously I want us to get these points as soon as possible. People assume that carlisle because they have spent a fortune on players will come good but people have been saying that for months, it's not happening.

Just wish we'd held onto that lead last weekend as after last nights scores it would make me feel a lot more comfortable. Obviously people are nervous and just want the club to be safe. A good run up the league would be a nice little bonus esp when looking for new players or getting lads to re-sign with us.
Form guide for last few weeks has us above all the teams below us in the league so shows we are going in the right direction. Think we have 4 of the teams below us to play? and lets face it away we are crap and against lower in the league teams we've been poor too. Just hoping we can get something at Crewe then finally get a packed ground next Thursday and beat Carlisle 🙏
