Crewe Alexandra (A) match thread
Re: Crewe Alexandra (A) match thread
Beginning to question the managers tactics, where has our high press gone, penalty a disgrace referee could not award a penalty soon enough it was at least a metre outside the box what's the point of having linesmen if they don't know their job I know Barrow where poor but that certainly knocked the stuffing out of them, I also thought the ball ran into touch in the move that ended with the penalty.

Re: Crewe Alexandra (A) match thread
He admitted the last 15 minutes were not acceptable and he didn’t blame the fans for having a go at the players. Said he had told the players that too. He was right in what he said we had three good chances first half and should have scored. At 1:0 nothing in the game then the awful penalty award kills us.
Spence carrying an ankle/calf problem hence on the bench Whits has a sore hip sounds like he was only 50/50 today.
It was a decent interview imo.

I have spent plenty of money over the years pal. Investing money would be a total waste it would be wasted. Scrapping around for sponsors for a game that's on tv. A fan zone with what one selling point.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:20 pm the club propped up by business men who have no idea how to make money and move the club towards sustainability.
Maybe you should put some money in to help.

I'm not having a go at the owners I'm having a go at the strategy or lack of one. How how you expect the players to be proud of wearing the shirt when the whole paying side is based 100 miles away

I thought it was a reasonably accurate assessment from Whing. You could take issue with one or two things he said, but he was rightly unhappy with the perfoamnce, players making the same mistakes as before, not scoring from good chances, then giving up in the last fifteen minutes. He seemed to suggest at the end that he had tried some different tactics but he is now going to revert to making us hard to beat.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:41 pmHe admitted the last 15 minutes were not acceptable and he didn’t blame the fans for having a go at the players. We will certainly need our 11 most determined and resilient players for Thursday.

Thanks for that. Nige probably couldn’t hear it all properly. Understandably due to the steam still coming out of his earsMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:41 pmHe admitted the last 15 minutes were not acceptable and he didn’t blame the fans for having a go at the players. He also said they had no chances first half, they had 3 good chances, free header, another one where a player was through on goal but hit it straight at Farman, and another where Farman saved earlier when their guy should have done better!Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:41 pmHe admitted the last 15 minutes were not acceptable and he didn’t blame the fans for having a go at the players. Yes penalty bad decision But that's down to Canavan!
No mention of the way they dominated possession a better team would have ripped us apart don't forget they had loads missing and had lost the previous 3 at home,
We can't hide from that second half display but keep listening and watching in your blue bubble and I'll stick to what I can see !

Think the only person sold more dummies than Wood this season is Cameron, and think he achieved that just in todays game.

Jim it's not that it's he's still picking the same player's and system and away from home it's not working surely he has to take some of the blame himself but all we'll get is the lads trained well etc !Jim wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:51 pmI thought it was a reasonably accurate assessment from Whing. You sound like a very successful business man, why don't you invest some of your money and show them how it's doneBingo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:10 pm That wasn't good today we didn't play well and some of the players under performed massively. We are just too slow. It's not a complicated game just get the ball forward and run after it.
Thought Gotts was good.
The club as a whole has problems, we have players training in hats and scarfs we have absolutely no structure at the club. The infrastructure at the club is worse than some in the northern counties league. We have the worst ground in the football league. Absolutely no ambition, the club propped up by business men who have no idea how to make money and move the club towards sustainability.
Also some of our fans are a disgrace, shouting abuse at the players isn't going to make them play better, telling players to [SwearFilter] off isn't going to do any good for the team. I get people are angry but it is embarrassing. As for the 14 year old lads with the scarfs over their faces and goggles in the coats that are a disgrace it's embarrassing.

Touch wood, but it currently seems everyone around us is equally dross. Here’s hoping the table stays the same. There really has been a huge lack of quality across league 2 this season and some god awful football at times.

Take a chill pill Nigel we lost a game of footy. It wasn’t good but not worth getting any angst overblue nige wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:54 pmHe also said they had no chances first half, they had 3 good chances, free header, another one where a player was through on goal but hit it straight at Farman, and another where Farman saved earlier when their guy should have done better!Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:41 pm
