Re: Fleetwood Town
A decent , intelligent football man. I hope he goes a long way in the game.
Wishing him all the best except against us of course.

Re: Fleetwood Town
Think Pete Wild was definitely the best version of himself during that interview. A truly likeable character as we already knew from his time with us.
Very diplomatic in his interview which he played with a very straight bat. Even Geoff Boycott would have been proud of his technique.
Will certainly go down in history as one of our better managers in the fullness of time.

Good bloke but will never forgive him for bottling the play offs like they did the other year, criminal.

Re: Fleetwood Town
His stubbornness and unwillingness to change his style of play did that for him.Barrowvianbedlam wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 8:46 pm Good bloke but will never forgive him for bottling the play offs like they did the other year, criminal.

Possibly part of the reason he 'left'.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 9:03 pm

Yep. His substitutions were useless too. Acted like a petulant child at times which didn’t helpMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 9:03 pmHis stubbornness and unwillingness to change his style of play did that for him.Barrowvianbedlam wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 8:46 pm Good bloke but will never forgive him for bottling the play offs like they did the other year, criminal.

Re: Fleetwood Town
Turned us into an established EFL club rather than one fighting relegation; some massive crowds and very enjoyable games, hopefully gets a clap from the away end after the game tomorrow

Re: Fleetwood Town
He is clearly a very sensitive and emotional soul. These are qualities that are very likeable in a person but can be problematic in difficult situations.
Watching that interview I wonder whether he has entirely moved on from us. I sensed a lingering regret, sadness, maybe anger at how things had worked out. A little odd in the sense that he is in reality manager of another club now.
His job there is going to be very different to the one he had with us. He started with us with bugger all. With the Cods his problem is a squad that is far too big and a budget that will clearly need to be slashed.
I think the degree of difficulty will be higher for him at Fleetwood as will the risk of failure and the degree of expectation. I hope it works out for him. He certainly won’t get any abuse from me tomorrow.

Yes, with the usual rider attached, 'subject to availability' - see club news item https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2025/mar ... -town--a-/
Currently, there are tickets available from the 1,129 allocated. As of two days ago, over 600 had been sold and a reasonable estimate is that another 100 plus have gone. Would imagine our club will take them off the site later today as tickets are paper and not electronic. https://x.com/BarrowAFC/status/1912128775363723544 For something more concrete, ring the club on 01229 666010.

Re: Fleetwood Town
The ticket office (01253 775 080, tickets@fleetwoodtownfc.com) is behind the main stand on Park Avenue. There no turnstile transactions – on the day, visiting supporters should use the away ticket office at the junction of Highbury Avenue and Hatfield Road.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:47 amYes, with the usual rider attached, 'subject to availability' - see club news item https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2025/mar ... -town--a-/

Re: Fleetwood Town
Update:
Fleetwood tickets now appear to have been removed from the Barrow AFC ticket portal. I would imagine there will be sufficient availability on the day therefore, Bakewell Blue. No doubt (?) there will be a social media statement about this from at least one of the clubs.

Re: Fleetwood Town
Thanks J - I have phoned the club and they confirmed this. I normally prefer a digital ticket, rather than a physical ticket, if I can get one.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:47 amYes, with the usual rider attached, 'subject to availability' - see club news item https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2025/mar ... -town--a-/
