Re: Pitch Work this Summer
I’m all in favour of a charity game for a good cause but mid/late June when the grass is still growing and it’s in the mist of being got ready for next season which I believe starts earlier than normal. It’s never been right since we came back into the EFL and this season it’s been dreadful, bare in parts, cutting up and bumpy as hell. It’s no coincidence we have played much better on better surfaces this season so we need to get ours right again!!

From what I’ve been told - the pitch will be fully done by the time the charity game is played.
It will then be reseeded immediately after the charity game and won’t be touched again till pre-season

Re: Pitch Work this Summer
The pitch was much better this season than the previous one imo. The previous season we suffered due to the new stands being built and money went into them rather than the pitch. IIRC the underlying soil the pitch is on does not lends itself to having a fantastic playing surface and I would imagine to have a pitch similar to Carlisles Brunton park ( probably the best surface we played last season) would cost more than we can afford.Gazza wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 10:44 am I’m all in favour of a charity game for a good cause but mid/late June when the grass is still growing and it’s in the mist of being got ready for next season which I believe starts earlier than normal. We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Nothing but blue skies coming my way. Where’s the rain when you need it, sprinklers must be working overtime.
