Didn’t do much first half but really got into it as the game went on, absolutely tiny bloke but fair play got really stuck in against some really physical defenders. Lad called Bainbridge in the middle looked very composed and technically very good. Zak brown for kiddy had something about him, and David Worrall was one of the best players on the pitch before an Unusual phill brown substitution. Goes to show there are lads out there that can definitely make a step up.chipmunx wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 8:19 pmThe number 20 Iwan Murray looks interesting - was he one of the "other" ones?Barrowvianbedlam wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 4:52 pm Just watched Chester at kiddy. Get that Burke signed, class. Couple of other Chester players worth looking at too

Re: New signings
yeah i know - but Shimalo, Worrall and Telford and Garner, played their last games on loan this weekend, so they probably still have to have their chats.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 5:07 pmAndy Whing said most of the discussions have taken place.chipmunx wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 3:50 pm
my guess would be midweek as anyone out on loan would in theory be back at the club Tuesday;-
Mazeed apparently didn't settle "up north" - so will no doubt be leaving.
Shamalo was always due to join us pre-season after being at Eastbourne on loan.
Worrall was a hit at Kidderminster, but i'd be surprised if he's not released - but all will probably have to sit down with the manager.

Re: New signings
Murray makes gotts look like Peter crouch. His wiki says he’s 5’4 but he looked smaller than that. Good player though, was watching him thinking he would be getting bullied due to his height but he was winning tackles and headers all over the parkchipmunx wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 9:24 pmyeah Murray is about Robbie Gotts size, and similar to Gotts takes some set pieces and runs at defenders with the ball.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 9:19 pm Spoke to a Chester supporting neighbour about Burke. His reply was "You pinched Stanway so you can f**ck right off unless you've got very deep pockets! ". Believe he came close to joining the Macc revolution in Jan but Savage baulked at the fee Chester were asking. As for Murray he impressed me in the games I saw last season. However its debatable whether he would physically stand up to the EFL. First time I saw him I thought he was a mascot who'd sneaked on. He is about three foot tall ! Chester players will now come under close scrutiny having reached the NLN play-off final.
Re: New signings
Neo Ecclestone has been offered a one year extension to his contract by Huddersfield.
Re: New signings
I would not be surprised if we do not sign Callum Roberts from Scunthorpe.
Scunthorpe have reached final against Chester but he has not signed a new contract.
The connection with our former Manager Lee Turnball may help.
Played at Notts County but had injury problems still managed 20 goals in about 50 games.
Then went to Aberdeen and onto to Scunthorpe.
First season blighted by injury but second season Managed a goal every other game.
May be worth a shout

Re: New signings
Class player Callum Roberts, reminds me a lot of Luke Molyneux
Re: New signings
Hearing he may be heading back north of the border.

Re: New signings
Think there's an unwanted 'not' in there, Pedro. Otherwise, I would not be surprised if we do not sign Mo Salah.
Don't let the old man in.

Re: New signings
Another name to think about is Joe Sbarra of Doncaster - played 27 times this season, but some Doncaster fans think they may try to move him on this summer after their promotion.
Rumour has it that Doncaster are one of the clubs interested in Robbie Gotts, and if that happens it might increase the chances of Sbarra moving on.
Whing was his manager at Solihull.

Re: New signings
Not a rumour but a player who has consistently played and scored goals from midfield is Fylde’s Nick Haughton. Fylde have managed just 50 goals in this relegation season and Haughton has scored an incredible 19 of these from midfield. That sort of return from midfield is almost impossible to find. He also scored 18 in the 23/25 season. An ever present player. Will he want to drop another level? Could he do a job for us? Could he be one to go in for?
Note he's mentioned further back on the thread.

Can we bring Dan Sassi in as part of the deal, per the Fylde website he's an absolute man mountain of a defender...Jonty wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 6:19 pm Not a rumour but a player who has consistently played and scored goals from midfield is Fylde’s Nick Haughton. [Edit yes, this is a joke so need to tell me he's under contract at Blackpool]
