Re: New signings
You lot train in Manchester, so, really surprised he's opted to sign for us.Pedro wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 10:03 amSounds ideal if he can continue in the league.
Preston based so not far away.
Contract expires next month so no fee.
Its if we could attract him.
What I like besides the 23 goals this season is he has a few yellow cards,so hopefully physical which we've lacked

Re: New signings
He was never an option for us he was under contract and a substantial fee was involved which we can’t affordTallow wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 12:15 amYou lot train in Manchester, so, really surprised he's opted to sign for us.Pedro wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 10:03 am

Re: New signings
Some might think it’s great for jeff1966 to say what signing we might be making with his golf club knowledge but I don’t think so,if we miss out on a signing because he let out a name ,I wouldn’t think it was clever and he can’t call himself a true fan

Re: New signings
I always say that if you have no insider knowledge and cannot gain directly or indirectly from an outcome, then feel free to speculate. In fact speculation is one of the more attractive aspects of this forum. That would include what you hear from others too. I suspect that there are very few new or original facts in what the forum has unleashed on the world.Broughton Fan wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 4:02 pm Some might think it’s great for jeff1966 to say what signing we might be making with his golf club knowledge but I don’t think so,if we miss out on a signing because he let out a name ,I wouldn’t think it was clever and he can’t call himself a true fan
If on the other hand you have reason to believe for any reason that the information may well have an element of truth about it then stay schtum .
Two things about this rumour. Firstly it would be very early to be talking specifics about loaning players before pre-season has even started. Secondly even if were true, speculating about it probably would be low risk,‘ in the sense that clubs like ours tend to be specifically selected by the parent clubs of loanees for specific reasons. There is not really a free market in loanees because the asset doesn’t belong to us.
Re: New signings
The big mouths that are informing him obviously don’t mind it being out there in the public domain.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 4:13 pmDon't blame him ,blame the big mouths informing him !Broughton Fan wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 4:02 pm Some might think it’s great for jeff1966 to say what signing we might be making with his golf club knowledge but I don’t think so,if we miss out on a signing because he let out a name ,I wouldn’t think it was clever and he can’t call himself a true fan

Re: New signings
Not sure about that. I seem to remember previous managers - once the player was 'signed' - said they had targetted that player and talked to the parent club about him having game time by bringing him to HS.Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 4:25 pm

What annoys me is when we sign a loanee in a great blurb of publicity saying he is the answer to our prayers, only to find he is on the bench or not even in the squad!

Re: New signings
I’m sure that every manager having agreed a loan deal would like us to think that it was the product of some well thought through strategy and on occasion it may be the outcome of persistence and hard work but it’s no accident that most loan deals tend to come at the end of the transfer window and are often the product of a need to fill the remaining holes in squads without incurring long term costs.bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 6:08 pmNot sure about that. And you are right. Even the best of them are there to be developed by us to the point by which they become better than us. Those who do not achieve this are as useful as a sack of spuds.
