Re: New signings
Acquah scores goals most of our squad could only dream of, but due to his size people automatically think he’s a target man. He’s not, his real strength is with the ball at his feet. Still only 24 and if Whing can get it right with him he will be a real asset.

Agree with this and John_Bucks.Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 12:29 pm Aquah just needs more consistency in his game but I am sure Whing and the coaching team will have a plan to get the best out of him. When he's at his best he's a really good player at this level.
Too many are simply unable to see anything positive about Acquah.
In the second half of the season, he appeared to become slimmer, fitter and more positive. He can do a decent job for us.
Re: New signings
Completely agree. Think his confidence was at a real low in the 1-0 loss to Carlisle at our place, which could be seen by his finishing, but he can definitely do a job with the right service.Hadrian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 3:54 pmAgree with this and John_Bucks.Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 12:29 pm Aquah just needs more consistency in his game but I am sure Whing and the coaching team will have a plan to get the best out of him. Garner was a false 9behind the goals wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 11:19 am For those wanting rid of Acquah you will have to wait for Summer 2026 when his contract expires, unless of course some Club put an offer in for him, that was the same has Garner & Telford the Club can't just sack players without some payments to the players. Acquah will be part of our plans next Season.

Re: New signings
With around 13 players on Contract next Season can see another 9 signings for a squad of 22.
Re: New signings
Probably bring in 3-5 on loan like previous seasons. Could see a few of these pre season games having a lot of trialists in them. Not worrying yet but hoping a few more in the door over the next couple of weeks.

Re: New signings
I can actually see a player in Acquah. He is a guy learning his trade and like has already been said under Andy Whing he could turn into a really good player. He doesn,t seem to do much and then you see a flash of brilliance and he scores.Personally I think he lacks confidence. If Andy Whing can give him that we will have a great player. Who knows this could be his season. Here,s hoping.barrow1987 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 7:45 pmFinally some sense about acquah.John_Bucks wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 1:51 pm Acquah scores goals most of our squad could only dream of, but due to his size people automatically think he’s a target man. He’s 24 I’m afraid nowadays 24 is old enough to know your trade and be decent at it by then!

Re: New signings
Acquah seems to split opinion on here, mine is that he’s gone backwards since his first year and did nowhere near enough last year. You don’t have to be great in the air just because you’re big, but at times his hold up play and touch is awful. He can produce moments and goals but nowhere near consistently enough even for a league 2 player. This is a big summer for him as I can’t see Whing putting up with performances like some of his last season.
I always thought Acquahs best moments were off the bench but aside from Wimbledon away I can’t remember him making too many other real impacts last season. Goals return was poor but his all round game seemed to go back from the previous year.

Re: New signings
wouldn't be a surprise - youngish 6' 3" goalie from Preston - who would be a fairly cheap option as back up to Wyll Stanway.
Lancashire;- born and bred

Not a great goal scoring record
