Agree. Both clubs play a massive part in the town, beyond just the games on match day. If they all get together both clubs could benefit from an upgrade, perhaps some funds could go towards a new stand each, in recognition of their part in Barrow, in return for the club allowing these facilities for community spaces, educational hubs, health etc. It’s too big an opportunity to overlook.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 1:38 pmI would hope that the boards of both Barrow Raiders and Barrow AFC have made representations to those that hold the keys to the purse of that fund to se if that's possible. Even a "match funding" deal would be better than nothing. If you don't ask you don't get.
Big question.

A question for the board if they have a pre season Q&AJonty wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 1:50 pmAgree. Both clubs play a massive part in the town, beyond just the games on match day. As sure as it'll get dark tonight, most of that 200 million will be swallowed up by quangos, lining people's pockets on pet projects that'll never see fruition-a lot of folk will do very nicely out of it but the Town'll see precious little.Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 1:34 pmDo you think there could be an opportunity for the club to benefit from the “once in a lifetime” £200m regeneration fund coming to Barrow over the next 10 years?Bingo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 9:31 pm You need ambition and more people in the town on board. You do that in part by building some infrastructure. There is very little. If you think and behave small that’s all you ever will be.
The games being on sky more is a massive opportunity to build the club and increase advertising revenue other clubs seem to be much better at doing this than us. Many of the things the club does is so half arsed.
Hopefully the club can attract some real investment to keep us moving up. The club should strive to be as high as it can get. Barrow is a booming town with lots of investment going in - it’s a great place and has lots to offer - if only the people of Barrow believed that the sky really would be the limit for the club and the town
Re: Big question.
This could be an opportunity for both clubs to work with “Team Barrow” to mutually benefit and support the wider Barrow regeneration.
No one is lining up to pump money into this club in the way it has happened at Carlisle and if some of these regeneration funds could be directed our way (ie to help build a new community stand, or develop youth teams, in return for using HS /CP as bases for community hubs, with access to support networks and an environment for learning opportunities, etc. That also aligns with the club’s place in the community. It could be a real valuable asset to the town.
If we don’t at least enquire then it could be an opportunity missed. I don't see anything else that could fund at the level needed for something like a complete new stand / (or an Academy) to help take us to the next steps.
