Elephant in the room
Nobody seems to want to mention the scum that follow Fleetwood, two flares were thrown and when the three stewards went in to get the culprits they were being punched by a mob of about 20, one was thrown out the ground and I hope the police go through the CCTV and get the rest , you can guarantee if it had been Barrow it would have soon be sorted out.

Thats exactly what I said to my mate. The police seemed to approach the incident as if they weren't bothered at all!

Re: Elephant in the room
Spent the whole time filming Barrow fans for no reason at all. Also reports of 'unbalanced' application of laws etc in town pre-match. I thought we'd got past this style of policing.
Not too bothered about pyro personally (thought if you chuck one, you're an eedgit- should be chucked out) but I do also think police intervention would have been more robust rather than leave to stewards to roll around untrained with daft kids.

Yep agree with what's been stated about this incident. I watched the events unfold and felt sorry for the stewards involved. The lack of police involvement was shocking and needs investigating. They're there to preserve the peace primarily and they clearly didn't.

Re: Elephant in the room
One of our fans challenged the police outside of the ground but I don't know what their response was , but after the stewards were attacked, 2 of the police strolled round to watch the end but didn't intervene, they got some stick for their lack of intervention from people on the popular side,
They also threw one on the pitch at the end which was truly reckless and they need to be brought to task, BUT why the police didn't stay is beyond me, especially when at the end the police look on the home fans as dirt and you feel guilty just walking past them ,this whole scenario at the end of games need sorting!
Ricky Wallbank please comment on this !

Re: Elephant in the room
Does anyone actually know who our Dedicated Football police officer actually is. ? The last name I heard when Wallbank left Cumbria police was an PC Rogerson. All EFL clubs are obliged to have one. The officer covering Carlisle United is very active on social media where as we appear to have nothing. Well we do but the Barrow AFC Police twitter account was last used April 2024

No surprises yesterday the same happened at the away leg last season where Barrow supporters were kettled at Blackpool north and demand for their details.
It’ll never change, like Aberdeen said the camera was on Barrow fans all game & the police hid behind the wall as if they didn’t see anything as the stewards took a hiding.
They’d have loved nothing more than it to be Barrow Supporters it would be on every social media they had and they’d be gunning for anyone they could.
Acab

Re: Elephant in the room
Thanks. I think perhaps a bit more engagement with the supporters wouldn’t go a miss. Plenty of ways to do it via social media etcBarrowLad71 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 4:21 pmGreg Rogerson is in chargeMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 4:04 pm Does anyone actually know who our Dedicated Football police officer actually is. ? The response from the police sums up the state of policing in the country.

I think the club has to pay for the police attendance.
If so, they should ask for their money back.

Re: Elephant in the room
That's no way for you Popsiders to treat the Police, no wonder they're filming yous.
And where was this elephant? Rumour on the HSE was that Bluey was riding it round the corporate at HT having found Ian Evatt's old sherbet dip supply in a drawer.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
Re: Elephant in the room
It was very poor to witness with my own eyes the constantly focused camera on the younger element of our fanbase the camera never strayed from them the three or so minutes I saw the PC filming. I did comment that he would be better training his camera on the goal mouth if he wanted to see any action rather than them.
Then to see the half arsed response after the flare incident beggared belief. To compound things further the liaison officer sniggering and painting an imaginary smile on his face at supporters as he passed them on the Holker St end doesn’t look good or paint a great picture at all.
The hard work that Rickie Wallbank did trying to build bridges with supporters when he was in the role will quickly be undone by the current clowns antics.

Re: Elephant in the room
You're totally right Mark our club should make a statement on yesterday's events ! Our stewards shouldn't be putting themselves at risk!

It was undone long ago imo. As the football police officer Rickie was constantly engaging with supporters both in person and social media and everyone knew who he was and what his role was.
The present incumbent in the posts fan engagement appears to leave a lot to be desired In fact until it was confirmed in an earlier post I was unsure who it was. I suspect many other supporters didn’t or don’t know either. Perhaps out SLO could have a word with him or even Rickie Wallbank himself and encourage him to be more engaging with supporters rather than what appears to have happened yesterday that sounds confrontational
