Re: Rob Kelly.
Dear Rob,
Full backs please.
Welcome back.

Re: Rob Kelly.
I think there are situations where a manager (not just in football ) needs someone as a sort of consultant, adviser and guide. I would see that as Rob Kelly's role, probably fairly short term. I don't expect Kelly to be pitchside, he will probably be supporting Whing before and after the game.

And it could be that he might have some knowledge of players who could come in who are free agents, or perhaps in the next transfer window. Good signing.

Re: Rob Kelly.
+1 and his confidence is low as it is! We don't want it any lower.Alley_Cat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 4:15 pmThisMisterPleasant wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 12:07 pm Putting that flag on display now would undermine Andy Whing's confidence, imho.![]()
We should be giving him all the support he needs no matter how badly we are playing.
Re: Rob Kelly.
Good management bringing RK in.
Someone had realised AW is at breaking point and needs a bit of support.
Well done.

Rob Kelly proved what a decent and good coach he is but wants to coach and not Manage
It's obviously no threat to Whing but hopefully will shape him into a better Manager
Having said that Rob Kelly does look younger than Whing.

Re: Rob Kelly.
This appointment explains his presence at Holker street on Saturday. He had obviously been contacted prior to last Saturday and came up to have a look at us. He gives Whing some much needed support IMO.

Re: Rob Kelly.
Have to find the banner now and get it back up in the Holker St end.
Re: Rob Kelly.
I think Rob Kelly coming back will only help.
People saying it's a panic move I would say it's proactive.
Kelly has a proven coaching record.
Whing is learning his trade and seems to struggling.
When you listened to Rob Kelly he is only interested in coaching

Re: Rob Kelly.
As has been said earlier maybe this would not be a good idea for the effect it might have on Whing, who is low at the moment.Methuselah wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 7:37 pm Have to find the banner now and get it back up in the Holker St end.
Re: Rob Kelly.
Everyone wants to see Whing succeed, and everyone could see he was struggling since JT left. It's a tough league for a manager without support and it was beginning to show.
There is no one better than RK to support and mentor Andy Whing and there is no threat to his job. RK is a coach and one of the most sought after in any league.
This is a massive boost for the club . Well done BOD.

Re: Rob Kelly.
Pleased RK is back in the game and with us. I think this is a great addition to Whingy’s coaching team.
I remember his calming words after a much needed win for a side that was struggling- “I can’t give them each a bottle of confidence to drink” In other words- It’s in there, we’ve just go to find a way to bring it out.

Re: Rob Kelly.
After listening to the Andy Whing interview it seems the Rob Kelly appointment has been in the pipeline for sometime. I initially thought it was a result of the Swindon result. Great move and once again full marks to the board for financing the deal.
