I think the decision was made to deter the little scrotes that were gathering by the away segregation and shouting abuse and on a couple of occasions throwing objects into that end. Most of them weren’t there to enjoy the football and were more interested in goading away fans. Unfortunately kids of today against kids of 10-15 years ago generally behave very differently.

There was obviously some issues don’t get me wrong but the atmosphere as such died off when the ban on under 16’s coming unaccompanied came in tbh
But it’s not even just about a atmosphere these days, the ground just feels flat full stop, even the moaning on the popular side when something goes wrong isn’t as loud, people are just carrying on talking to their mates rather than being fully invested in the game

Absolutely this, pathetic decision hidden under some guidance rules, if this had been in place when most of us were younger then I for one would never have gone to watch Barrow !
It was great I used to travel from Ulverston with mates and it was brilliant!
We could easily drop this draconian rule we have stewards now who ( using common sense should control this)
We could even have a membership scheme for under 14's where we could offer them discounts on shirts/ food etc ,get this advertised in schools infact involve the se factions
It's not rocket science and the irony is we're always promoting a community club, come on Barrow we can do better than this give the kids a break they face enough rules in their lives as it is THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX! ( opposite for our forwards! )

Part of growing up was a trip and an adventure for us heading from ulverston to watch the football!
I genuinely don't think us as kids were that much different to today's but yeh, there is always one or two that go too far but why punish the lot?

Someone mentioned that most in HS are clocking on 60, that's quite scary! Not being 60, but where is the future?? It was the young ones within the ultras that made a cracking spectacle along with the noise.. we need them on board, not alienated.

I don’t think the set up suits the players we have and is almost trying to put square pegs in round holes, ridiculous playing Whitfield as a wingback for example. That being said the players also have a responsibility once they cross the white line and at the moment quite a few could do a bit more.

I suspect he and Newby would see themselves more as wide midfielders.
