This time last year, people wondered how Clemence lasted as long as he did. Paul Hornby said even though the transfer window opens on the 1st of January, any loan players were being assessed from November ie, who`s available, what would they cost, do they want to come etc, and one of the first thing`s they or their agent`s ask is, what`s the situation with the manager. If the club said anything negative, the player / agent in question don`t want to know. That`s why last January loan players were signed, then Clemence was relieved of his duties. So, if we are looking at the January window now, I`d be very surprised if the current manager would be relieved of his duties any time soon. Just a comment on what the Chairman said after Whing was appointed in January.

That’s all the more reason to make a change now I think, give someone else time before January and stabilise us. Whing doesnt appear to have the ability to change things or contacts, and his signings bar McCann and Whitfield returning have taken us backwards. The football is garbage and if there was signs of encouragement despite the results I’d be inclined to say give him time. The truth is we’re getting worse again and there isn’t a load of players missing injured now either, this is where we’re at and I don’t see him being able to change anything else. Maybe Rob Kelly saved him as we seemed to dig in and be a lot more solid in his spell.
Our shape yesterday was awful, at one point their loan lad was in 10 yards of space in midfield to play a through ball for a one on one which they should’ve scored from, with Newby stood with his arm in the air having played him onside - basics! The second goal is equally as easy for them and bad. We’re far too easy to play through and haven’t got the basics, that’s on the manager.

If survival is about money or the lack of them imo it's simple.
The cost of getting rid of Whing is significantly less than the funding we get from being in L2 as opposed non league.
He's massively out of his depth and tactically inept which will only lead us out of the league.
Get rid .

Understand what you and Hornby are saying BUT that was then this is now !
Clemence had us top of the league and we played with at least a game plan and looked a half decent team, we had Gotts, Campbell and Spence and a goalscorering centre half who despite the odd error was quick and could cover!
Move to now we play a system WITHOUT the players who can play it ,we play without a recognised right back, surely to the most ardent fan this is absolutely the height of stupidity!
Every week we're told the same boring weak excuses, we're nowhere near where we should be ,stupid mistakes, great bunch of lads, working their socks off, training was brilliant!,
Then we wait , yeah isn't Andy a good guy ( not disputing this ), so we turn up and what do we get ?, different shape?, high intensity?, mistakes rectified?, NO, so back we go again, hoping against hope something will change then comes another interview ( excuses ready) another tough team, great manager blah blah blah, seriously does anyone think this is going to change?
Just for the record I feel for Andy BUT my club is bigger than him and me ,we haven't waited 48 years and thousands of pounds spent by our directors,( which to me has been incredible) to end up in this dire situation as now !
Let's not sugar coat this if we go down, unless we're going to get serious investment we're not coming back anytime soon that's a nightmare that I've had the last 12 months ,a decision for our wonderful club ( which we all love) has to be made one way pr another!

This negative attitude and outlook is counter productive and embarrassing- poor old Barrow they have no training balls they have to train in Manchester

If you believe you are small you are - We set up far too negative frightened of losing and so slow. In my option it’s doesn’t matter who we have up front anyone would struggle to score in that set up.

5 subs on the bench - sickness bug - players training in hats and scarfs they are just going through the motions

No reserves no academy no junior teams - we can’t afford them - Kendal town have all these type of teams as do Holker old boys - we must be the only side in the top 9 levels of the pyramid with absolutely no structure what so ever. Why does it matter? You want to nurture young players and sell them on - that just isn’t going to happen. You want to get the local community more on board with the club what better way than having junior teams and academies etc

On the subject of Whing I feel sorry for him but he doesn’t seem to be that confident in himself and that coupled with the negative little old barrow mentality is doing for us. We can’t keep changing managers tho and I’m guessing the club is trying to support him as much as the can but I think we are nearly at the time where he has to go.

Agree wholeheartedly but until someone who stands on the Pop side’s rollover lotto comes in and they bankroll the club, new investor either gets on board or takes over, we are not going to have the infrastructure that all our peers have (and many more in the leagues below). As fans that is out of our control. It is a tough time and I agree that we are hamstrung by this little Barrow negativity which runs deep across the club. I detest it, and it should not be used as any sort of “what do you expect, we are only Barrow” but it does happen. Needs to be kicked into touch.

If Andy Whing is central to signing this squad of players, and he really believes these are the right players to play his system then I would definitely say GO NOW.
However, I don’t think he has signed these players. Wood has signed them and Whing finds himself in the hopeless position, that Pete Wild wouldn’t accept, of being given players he doesn’t want.
Who in their right mind signs five wingers when he doesn’t play wingers.
Who in their right mind puts together a squad of players with only three recognized defenders.
I’m fed up of seeing Newby and Whitfield trying to defend far post balls. They’re not defenders. Get them up the field and let the opposition worry about them.
In essence Wood is responsible for this mess. He has put together an unbalanced squad and given Whing the original ‘hospital pass’. He's playing square pegs in round holes because of what he has been given.
The squad can only be rectified in January but if Wood continues his scatter-gun approach to signings we are doomed.
If I’m wrong, and Whing is central to all signings then he should go, but I’m not sure he is.

With our current squad Jackson is equally is good on either play him at right back Shipley at left back Raglan and Canavan at CH Barks and Newby as wingers. McCann as the most advanced midfielder. That for me is the basis for getting the best out of the squad we have atm
