Re: WHING HAS TO GO
That sounds about right. Williams should be in midfield where he has been effective in the past, togther with Harper (tho he seemed to be off the pace yesterday according to commentary). and McCann. With Newby, Whits, Barkhuizen and Gordon, plenty of promise there.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 2:00 pm With our current squad Jackson is equally is good on either play him at right back Shipley at left back Raglan and Canavan at CH Barks and Newby as wingers. McCann as the most advanced midfielder. That for me is the basis for getting the best out of the squad we have atm

Re: WHING HAS TO GO
So you put in a new manager - as we have done so many times - where does that get you?
A few months down the line the problem is still there. WOOD!
So what do we do - bring Wood onto the board and give him an a new contract.
All of these managers are being controlled and hampered by him. Wild wouldn't have it so the board caved in and backed Wood.
The title of this thread should be WOOD HAS TO GO.
We might then make some progress. Until he goes we won't.

Even if that were true a good manager would make it work with what he's got, has whing done that ? no he's been stuck in his system, even though ( seen by nearly everyone) this is not working he's not been flexible and has constantly made decisions/ substitutions that make no sense !

And you don't know that changing the manager will change things - it won't.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 2:39 pmYou don't know that do you !bluessupporter wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 2:36 pm So you put in a new manager - as we have done so many times - where does that get you?

Whing is a decent guy but sadly not a decent coach or tactician imo, We have good players who coached better and set up tactically better are more than capable of holding their own in league 2. It’s not a question of can we afford to get rid it’s a question of can we afford not to. The body language of the players yesterday said it all.
Re: WHING HAS TO GO
I also agree that Wood has to much say in both the signings and the team. He should be relieved of anything to do with the signing of players, and invited to find another club. We lost Pete Wild because of him.l’d have the Whing / Mc Donald team + reorganise the team per (Blue nige) maybe, then go for it. Come January let’s see how we are.
Yesterday was rock bottom we need to act.

I would say as part of the recruitment team they all play a part and given his background that being negotiating with players and agents on the financial side of transfers. I’d imagine that Joe Harvey could be the chief identifier of players given one of his roles as part of the team is recruitment analyst.

Re: WHING HAS TO GO
Isn’t it great that people seem to “know” how things work behind the scenes!
IW cost Wild his job…..how do people know this?
IW is bringing in players with AW having no say in it….how do people know this?
They don’t, they’re just putting snippets & scraps together and putting their own spin on it.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Ah well then we better close the forum down if fans can’t speculate. What else is a forum for than fans posting their opinions.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 4:01 pm Isn’t it great that people seem to “know” how things work behind the scenes!

Re: WHING HAS TO GO
I never said anything like that! I was making a point of the way people put across their point as if they KNOW what’s happening behind the scenes when we don’t. Have a read of some of the comments….its like they’re stating facts.BarrowLad71 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 4:23 pmAh well then we better close the forum down if fans can’t speculate. Re: WHING HAS TO GO
Only thing I would change …. Swap Earing for S. Smith
Something definitely has to change very soon with the way we approach our play - home and away - but not in favour of changing the manager yet.
One has to have faith that this period leading up to January has seen fervent search for players to compliment, not replace, the team we already have.
As someone alluded to earlier, constant change of the manager will bring no building of team, no solid culture, no vision.

If you have a opinion you are sent to the salt mines so be careful.
On the Wild dismissal it was more than one person he fell out with and it got a bit nasty .
I suppose he now knows what it's like not to be a mason.
He was black balled
