Wyll Stanway
Heard Huddersfield are interested in him maybe in the January transfer window, transfer market web site value him at £125 000

Re: Wyll Stanway
£500,000 that's not being greedy that's the going rate anything less and we'd be daft to sell !
Re: Wyll Stanway
I’ll take £500k plus a 30% sell on fee

Re: Wyll Stanway
I think we need him to stay this season on a 2 year contract. We need to stabilise our position in this league first. Not convinced re the number 2 though has talent.Time to listen to offers from above when will shows good performances for longer and then of course price goes up and we need the money.

Absolutely no chance any club pays over 100k for a league 2 goalkeeper , get a nice sell on % & get him back on loan for the season

Re: Wyll Stanway
I can’t see that being anywhere near Nige, 100k or there about, the important thing would be to get a sell on clause added.
Having said that, it’s just a reporter filling a bit of space - for now.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Wyll Stanway
I’d read the deal is done £375k with add-ons and will be loaned back until the summer.
Healey to also return to Barrow.

Ian Carlisle sold Branthwaite who was 17 for 1 million in 2020 I think it's realistic!spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 8:30 pmI can’t see that being anywhere near Nige, 100k or there about, the important thing would be to get a sell on clause added.

Going in Jan, will go higher than league 1, fee still being thrashed out. Loaned back to us for the rest of the season
And to say some doubted him at the start. Hes better than farman in every way

Re: Wyll Stanway
He's done well for us this season hugely improved from his early games last season. Quick off his line, brave, not frightened to come and punch or claim and his kicking has improved too.
Still young for a goalkeeper though and as Wigan shows he does have the odd mistake in him still as all keepers do at our level. I think he'd be best off staying here for now and developing a bit more but no doubt in the near future he will make the step up, just hopefully it's at a profit to the club and after he signs a new contract, although his agent may have other ideas on that one...
I did wonder about the decision to let Farman go who'd been great for us and was a big player to let go but Stanway has really stepped up, and Winterbottom doesn't look a bad deputy either.

Re: Wyll Stanway
That’s a great deal, assuming the add on includes a sell on clause. If it is Huddersfield (not sure on that myself) no thanks to Healey back, pointless
Re: Wyll Stanway
Stanway has come on leaps and bounds .
Yes he had a mistake in him but he has improved.
Farman going probably saved us quite a few pounds so with the two keepers it was a no brainer.
Let's remember this lad has overcome obstacles and is doing well especially as he is a local.
If we sell him we will make some money and it's a indicator to players no matter how long your contract is perform for us and if you want a move to a bigger club we will aid it.
Much better that he has ambition.
