Huge thanks to Matt for letting us use all of his videos for the Barrow 125- absolutely top man. Working through all sorts of bits it's very easy to fall down a rabbit hole (indeed part of the point is having a clear space to spend even more time on Barrow and Barrow AFC than everyone does already)

More than ten years ago! It wasn't dull and we were right up against it before he arrived! Perhaps time for an affectionate appraisal in a future Beans, or indeed for posterity as a whole...has anyone some recollections or opinions they'd like to share?

Not got much about Papa Cass but he was a nice fella his cowboy boots took the crossbar by storm.

He didn’t get it all right and probably had half the towns food carters off but at the end of the day he tried his best and pumped some cash in and without his piece of the puzzle we could be anywhere today.

Once sat with Papa Cass Jnr (Andrew) in the hospitality rooms till late after a game with a shed load of Dark Fruits and various bottles of wine amongst the group trying to convince his David Pipes criminal record would not be an issue and he’s the sort of nasty man we needed and would love in midfield and Jack Barthram was the worse player to don a Barrow shirt for some time. Some say it was the longest free hospitality lounge in the clubs history with Russ Dodd restocking the dominoes Pizzas at about 10pm to keep us going as we attacked the squad list in a keep or release fashion.

He even let us turn the floodlights on and take penalties on the pitch on another occasion. Was good to see him at Chelsea last season again despite his faults he tried and loved the club. It could’ve been worse , look at Morecambes owners…

The past in terms of Paul Casson, was a stepping stone along the path of progress-which I thank him for.

He had good intentions and must be said unlike another Barrovian turned up when needed.

Hey took a lot of stick when here but surely we must all be thankful for what the Cassons family gave us in their short tenure! Where would we be now?? Scary to think...

So along with the keens, we have to be grateful and thankful cos without them, we wouldn't be who are today.

Had many conversations with Tony and Brian too..

What went on is there business not mine. I'm just grateful to be where we are now because 40 odd years of supporting Barrow, playing in the football league was something we all dreamt of and because of people's money, input etc.. we are now here, where we should be.

I just don't get why you feel the need to stick a knife in? It's In the past, let's all move on and look forward.. we know they weren't perfect but like I say, just look at what we have now!

I could be misremembering but I don’t honestly remember Paul Casson getting much stick; it was when he left Andrew over here running things (badly) that was the problem iirc
