Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Getting beat at home in a relegation 6 pointer absolutely crushing this result.
Not questioning desire, or tactics. There’s not enough quality in this squad.

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
How Jackson and Raglan get a game every week is beyond me. Jesus wept
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Shipley is worse than even an out of form of Jackson and Raglans been poor all season for me but somehow is captaining us….thats a big worry when he’s the captain and the leader…
Canavan back next week is the only positive I can really think of right now
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
All this hype about Rose , literally made a pass into the Crawley player inside their box, don’t know why some single out Jackson when there’s half a dozen worse players.
Since Evatt there seems to be this obsession with young in experienced managers.
Interesting read from Shearer in the programme, wonder if the improvements to the fan zone willl still happen if we’re in the national league

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Anyone seen out goal back? Looked fine in the ground at the time but ive not seen it since
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Crawley not won in 11 and lost the last 4
They’ve only kept 3 clean sheets all season (now 4 and we had 2 shots on target today)
Welcome to holker street where this squad of players find a way to lose every week!
They’ve signed 12 new players in January as they know they’re in bother. Ultimately our recruitment at the start of this year was shambolic and it’s coming to bite us in the arse, this is increasingly looking like its the year we get caught out

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Pathetic display as per usual absolute dross. Half of them only wanted to show a bit of fight at the full time whistle with Crawleys team before they strolled off down the tunnel.
2 worse teams are not going to keep us up as we are absolutely miles off it. This last week of the transfer window is the biggest moment in Woods career the back up has to come in and be the right men.
And we can debate the goal or no goal craic all night but the fact of the matter is , it wasn’t given and we then showed absolutely nothing for it to spur us on.
Worrying times we are in free fall , no improvement with the manager and the ‘ good lads ‘ we have

Was there a fighting spirit sense last night at the Q and A? Did anyone take ownership of this absolute mess we are in.

I don't know how to sum that absolutely shocking goal to concede admittingly he took it well, but going forward Crawley looked to have more ideas but if Fletchers goal stands think we would have won it.
Really liked their tactics of leaving players up for corners we never do that if we play Whitfield at wingback again I won't believe it they targeted him second half.

Sep 20 was last home league win - still Summer, everyone in shorts and t-shirts.200miles wrote: ↑Sat Jan 24, 2026 4:51 pmHaven't won at home for over FOUR months.AugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Sat Jan 24, 2026 4:47 pm What is it with all these late goals conceded.
They’ve not won in last 12 games.
Crawley's last away win was before that Sep 6 - Barrow duly put an end to that losing streak.

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Tuesday’s game against Oldham (who were six games unbeaten until their defeat at Barnet today) is now even more of a “must win" after Crawley cruelly beat us 1-0 in the 89th minute. Fortunately, of the other teams below us, only Newport won.
Again, we had most possession and just as many chances as our opponents but failed to take ours- and were hit with a sucker punch at the end. We also had a goal disallowed. It was the latest in a long history of 1-0 defeats at Holker Street in foot of the table six-pointers!
Our new striker Danny Rose started at a bitterly cold Holker Street with a strong, biting easterly wind. We played against the wind in a largely uneventful first half.
Stanway was called into action only 5 minutes in making a save from a Copley header after a Gordon cross. Our Gordon was still injured and his namesake was certainly adept at rolling around after fouls!
Danny Rose shot just past the right-hand post in the 17th minute but the whistle had gone for offside anyway. A minute later at the other end, a Darcy cross went wide.
Ben Whitfield put in a few good crosses from the right but no-one met them.
In the 34th minute, Crawley’s Odimayo went down injured and had to be replaced by Barker.
Our best opportunity of the half came in the 41st minute when a J.Anderson throw led to a McCann cross and a Fletcher header which Chapman tipped over the bar for a corner. From this, the ball eventually fell to Jackson who shot wide from distance.
One shot on target each and 0-0 at half time.
Five minutes into the second half, we had the ball in the net. Fletcher tapped in but Rose was adjudged to be offside.
Three minutes later, Crawley hit the right post with a shot from Orsi.
The match was becoming more feisty and entertaining in the middle of the field while not providing many more chances at either end.
In the 63rd minute, Fletcher had a header saved after a Jackson cross.
Freddie Anderson was booked a minute later for a foul on Copley.
In the 67th minute Barker was fouled and Darcy’s free kick from the left was headed clear, then Gordon blasted well over.
Barrow went for two changes in the 70th minute, Harper and Mahoney coming on for Earing and Whitfield. Crawley replaced McKirdy with Richards.
In the 72nd minute, Fletcher headed just wide.
Five minutes later, Crawley replaced Copley and Gordon with Anderson and Forster.
A number of Jackson corners failed to make the mark as we huffed and puffed with little end product. Jackson again shot just wide of the left post with a 25 yard shot in the 82nd minute.
In the 88th minute, McCann was booked for a foul on Richards. We never really cleared the ball after the Darcy free kick and then found ourselves exposed on the right with a good shot from Richards flying past Stanway into the bottom left corner.
Newby replaced J.Anderson in added time. Despite more Jackson corners, Stanway going up for the last two, we failed to get anything from the game. It was cruel on Barrow but if you don’t take your chances and then overstretch yourself, you eventually concede.
The crowd was 2,322 with 105 visiting fans.

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
What did you expect?
We've no right back so we have to play this 3 at the back, Canavan hasn't helped us !,The recruitment in Summer has put any new manager under the 8 ball
It's like trying to rebuild a team again.
Apparently Gallagher said he'll play 3 at the back because we need to get results but to do that is insane We've no decent wingbacks!
Crawley looked dangerous when they pushed forward we didn't, second half we looked tired and lost our shape, I even said, I can see Crawley stealing this .
To be fair to Gallagher we won every second ball first half and looked fairly comfortable but second half they've changed it and flooded the midfield and we didn't react !
