Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Don't think it matters if Rose was interfering with the keeper or not, he was onside anyway.. Defenders left leg playing him on

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
It was just a dam awful decision. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if someone from the PGMOL contacts the club tomorrow to apologise
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
That pic reinforces my view that it was a poor decision (and I haven't got me blue specs on either Nigel). Rose isn't in the line of sight of the shot, the keeper saves unchallenged and parries it into the path of Fletcher. Rose doesn't impact that either. What is more annoying is that the ref was quick to tell the Linesman to get his flag up. The ref is 18-20 yards away, how could he have even possibly been 100% certain he was offside from his position. I know we have the benefit of a screen capture. Yep refs decision is final, but given the outcome of the game, it’s a hard one to take.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

If anything he looks offside on that picture, I don't see how you can use it as evidence he wasn't.Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:28 pm Don't think it matters if Rose was interfering with the keeper or not, he was onside anyway.. Defenders left leg playing him on

Jonty what evidence do you have that the referee told the linesman to raise his flag ? have you access to their conversation no you're guessing like everyone else!Jonty wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 5:01 pm That pic reinforces my view that it was a poor decision (and I haven't got me blue specs on either Nigel). There was an incident in the second half where Crawley were offside and the linesman didn't raise his flag straight away ( perhaps he was waiting for the referee to tell him )just accept it and move on !

The liner told Gallagher when challenged, he mentioned it in his post match interviews I believeblue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:47 pmJonty what evidence do you have that the referee told the linesman to raise his flag ? have you access to their conversation no you're guessing like everyone else!Jonty wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 5:01 pm That pic reinforces my view that it was a poor decision (and I haven't got me blue specs on either Nigel). 1. He definitely looks onside if you follow the lines on the pitchStephenD wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:33 pmIf anything he looks offside on that picture, I don't see how you can use it as evidence he wasn't.Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:28 pm Don't think it matters if Rose was interfering with the keeper or not, he was onside anyway.. 2. He’s definitely not in the keepers direct eyeline.
So definitely should have stood according to that still shot.
Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
if he was offside was he active or inactive in the goal as he wasn’t involved in the move that resulted in the goal and I didn’t think he was in the keepers line of vision when Fletcher shot at goal to score.
I guess the jury is out on this one.

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
It is always the ref who makes the decision on anything; the assistant alerts her/him to transgressions. We have all seen instances where the assistant flags, the referee goes to confer and gives a contrary decision to the assistant.
The current pre-match guidance form the FA says It is better to be slightly late and correct, than to be too quick and wrong.

Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
He does to me. And yes I can see the lines on the pitch. Not sure why crying laughing emojis are appropriate, there's no way you can prove he wasn't offside with that screen shot.

Nigel it’s not that big a deal,…Just accept a different opinion to yours and move on.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:47 pmJonty what evidence do you have that the referee told the linesman to raise his flag ? have you access to their conversation no you're guessing like everyone else!Jonty wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 5:01 pm That pic reinforces my view that it was a poor decision (and I haven't got me blue specs on either Nigel). Re: Barrow v Crawley Town, match thread
Well quite. We aren't where we are in the league because of refereeing decisions. As the co-commentator said in the post match we have a 'soft underbelly', we deserved a draw yesterday but we didn't get one because we lose the plot at the back at least once in just about every game.Jonty wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 9:55 pmNigel it’s not that big a deal,…Just accept a different opinion to yours and move on.blue nige wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:47 pm
