As I said on a previous post yesterday I got to sit down with Paul Hornby to record an extensive chat.

All that interview says to me is I want to do even more to help our club stay in the EFL so come on everyone let’s get right behind the BOD and players, let’s get them over the line and together we can do it.

The usual measured and informative comments from Paul Hornby. Good to hear the views of Rob Kelly and others that this squad is good enough - let us hope that the new coaching pair can prove this to be true, having been given the opportunity to further strengthen that squad.

Some of the ballooning theories on here would appear to be deflated by much of what he says - (but then he would say that, wouldn't he? no doubt).

The owners have gone the extra mile in supplementing the budget beyond that originally set for this season. We thank them for that although there must be continued anxiety about ongoing sustainability and the owners' ability to continue to support the running of the team in the current manner. It will be interesting to see if PH addresses this in future segments.

We would all like to see more happening - academy, youth or reserve sides, ladies side, infrastructure developments, even more community involvement - but look at the staff list in a copy of The Bluebird and we can see how much it takes to try to keep a single team going in League 2. This is all because of people who have been prepared to stand up and be counted financially. Then there is the magnificent work of the volunteers: Bluebirds Trust, GMV, litter pickers, Barrow 125 group included, and the support from local business.

It is a tough time on the pitch at present but we have much to be grateful for. Enough of the doom-mongers and fantasy theorists - the carping should stop, we should pull together both individually and collectively, actively doing what we can to support the owners and staff in seeing us out of the present situation.

Those that have been knocking Wood should listen to this.

Just because you are busy does not necessarily mean that you are doing a good job. I’m sure that we all agree that most of the recent player recruitment has been woeful.
And PH seems to elude that we have not been significantly financially restricted in this regard either. There has to be accountability there whether it is Wood, AN Other or a collective.

So who is taking the culpability for the awful transfer recruitment in the summer? Despite the squad is good statement when Whing left, we had 5 players start in the last game who were signed after the summer window, which completely debunks that myth that none of us believe anyway tbh
