I feel for him a little, was never the appointment we wanted or needed and it was clear we were going even further backwards. New players not the fit that we needed, no experience, same old story week in week out not doing the basics.
Board has to shoulder some responsibility too for another dreadul decision but at least they’ve moved to do it. Experience is now needed…

I try not to be dramatic on here but I genuinely feel this next appointment is the biggest in the club's history. It needs to be the right person or its back to non league for us and we won't be coming back anytime soon

We should never hire anyone who can’t handle 10 shandys.

Need more resilience in the dugout

Give over. How long do you give him? It’s been turgid.

The lads been doing kids football, yes he’s played at a good standard but it’s a different game managing at this level, need someone who knows the league and can go back to basics. I’m still convinced we have a good squad on paper, mentality wise at the moment they’re horrendous but I think the correct appointment will turn this around. Some of the stuff I saw last night was Sunday league, one of the worst displays I’ve seen in 20 years. Yet again I will give credit to the board, it hasn’t been cheap but definitely cheaper than playing in the conference in front of sub 2k crowds. Get it right now, don’t listen to that cretin wood.

He probably is a good coach, but he just definitely wasn’t the fit for a relegation scrap in league two. And he didn’t sign a right back

It just never looked like working out sadly.
Gally and John Welsh may go on to be good coaches in league football and look back on their brief time at Barrow as a steep learning curve in years to come. Depends on how ambitious they both really are, need bedding in at non league level in a safeish mid table set up and building from there. Good luck to both🙏

I have no doubts that he is and will continue to be a good coach, but I don't think it was the right situation for him to begin his managerial career, and the board have quickly realised that it wasn't the right appointment in the circumstances. Good luck to him in his future endeavours.
