Tyler Walker received the ball in the penalty area with a good touch and had his back to goal.

Instead of trying to swivel and get a shot off he opted to pass it 20 yards back, outside the area, not even to a wide crossing position but directly back central and the chance was gone.. Not having a go at him as he had some good touches, but that summed up our season for me... Far too negative, not brave, nobody taking responsibility often enough

We have really missed the influence of Sam Foley on the pitch since he's been out and if we can get him fit he needs to be playing every game.

Agree re Sam Foley but where would you play him. Personally when available it would be alongside McCann for me. He needs help in midfield for sure as he’s trying to mop up things currently and it’s like a one man effort in doing so in the main.
As I and others have mentioned we need to give a flat back four a serious go before all is lost, with Freddie at right back now he’s back in the squad.

A lot to be [SwearFilter] off about. But one thing that stood out for me was the players reaction to the challenge on Malcom. An absolute shocker the lad meant to do damage but what did ours plays do about it. Absolutely nothing a coupe of arms in the air that’s all. Make a scene show abit of something ffs we are far too nice

This team has no backbone.There is no fighting spirit,no respect for the supporters.I think the club should allow some supporters to go and have a word with these players.If they won't come to the supporters the club can,t really object to the supporters having a word with them even if it means travelling to the training facility at FC United.It,s about time they were told some home truths about commitment,digging in and not shying away from tackles.When the chips are down you keep trying till you succeed not give up.

I thought there was plenty of effort today, but we showed little up front. Gillingham were hardly any better, and a draw would have been a fair result. In fact I thought Colchester were a lot better than Gillingham.

Conceding lots of late goals is a common trait of teams in trouble.

I was behind the goals at the Holker Street end. It looked like a hard challenge and nothing more from there. Looks a devastating injury for the lad.

He’s gone in high, studs raised, with force and he could easily have pulled out of it.

I think that was easily the worst performance of this season- and that takes some doing. The players look completely lost- it’s hardly surprising given more backroom changes this week. I very much appreciate the owner’s incredible investment but the way this club has been managed, and the decisions taken over the last 18 months is I think reflected in the performances on the pitch - horrendous. Chickens are coming home to roost.

Separately, I thought Nial Canavan was outstanding today - and I do feel for him .

Just watching EFL highlights. So frustrating to see how many teams get plenty of players along side each other when attacking opposition box. Unfortunately, we are never one of those team's. Used to be attack as a team. Defend as a team. Oh the memories n excitement..
