These two things don’t need to be mutually exclusive. Everyone on here knows what a great job the board have done literally burning their own money to keep us going BUT we can also ask valid questions, look at the Whing sacked statement when the squad was described as good enough etc

I think there is little or no disrespect or ill wishes to the owners. I think all reasonable fans will echo the sentiments above. But...in previous MTB meetings they have been open about making mistakes. I think it is past time to address what many fans think is ther biggest (or two biggest) mistake(s). I think it is on the owners to convince the paying fans that they haven't made a massive blunder with the DoF/Sporting Director/CEO position. I think the majority of fans are looking that way to explain why we have had multiple appalling managerial appointments and atrocious playing recrecruitment.

Re: Meet The Board
Paul Hornby will have known that when you interviewed him so if what you are saying is correct why didn’t he say so?Adam29 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 4:54 amThe Chelsea Money will have been the difference - the £1.4m would have been without the money bought in from that gameMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 7:09 pm
Hornby also said in his recent interview with Adam the club lost £1.4 million last season when in fact not a couple of weeks later Companies House showed it was in fact £950k. Im unsure how an accountant can be the best part of half a million pounds out in an interview.
Re: Meet The Board
Brave or stupid I’m not sure. They’ll certainly know how fans feel at the moment, think this will just be a night to say “we don’t want relegation, we’ll do everything to stay up, we have faith in dino” etc etc and dodge difficult questions.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
Re: Meet The Board
So what exactly are you expecting to hear ,
Be honest this is either a brave or stupid idea .
Id like to hear some honest comments on why exactly Wild was got rid of and some on Whing and how much has been wasted, getting shut and on recurring recruitment.
Also about any investment that was being worked on ....did Paul Hornby not say there was potentially investment coming from America
We all scoff at Wrexham but Barrow and the Furness area could really do with a peice of that sort of input .
Barrow Soccer is quite frankly at a massive turning point, going down will take a heck of a lot to get back .

They can't talk about Wild there's a binding non disclosure agreement!JohnE wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 11:55 am So what exactly are you expecting to hear ,

The investment from America is not happening nor any possibilities of future investment, this was all explained by Paul Hornby in his interview with Adam!
He also explains the position with Whing!
Where have you been?, plus all these things have been discussed/ explained on here !

Re: Meet The Board
All fans want is some honesty some accountability and explanation from them as to where in their opinion it has all gone wrong. The tone of the Q&A will imo be determined on the result on Friday and next Tuesday

Re: Meet The Board
All pretty pointless as I see it.
Some may want specific people to be accountable for the mess we are in.
Shouting the odds now is not going to achieve a single thing.
What’s happened has happened, water under the bridge, spilt milk etc etc.
We need a total reset at the end of the season, and if necessary wave the finger of accountability then.
At the moment it would be driven by understandable hot air, and the timing will achieve absolutely nothing.

As Barrowaberdeen says higher up they have to have it to comply with EFL rules. Every club must have a minimum of 2 Q&A sessionsMisterPleasant wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 1:38 pmAnd it's neither brave nor stupid (definitely not the latter); it's communicating with fans which is what we all ask for, particularly at times like this.blue nige wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 12:40 pm

This 100% now is not the time for recriminations or retribution as my old boss used to say “Don’t bring me problems its solutions I want”.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 1:51 pm All pretty pointless as I see it.

We are in this together until the end of season then is the time for root and branch reset.
The BOD are fans themselves and have been let down massively, at this juncture however all we can do is unite and face what’s coming regardless of outcome.

I stand by my earlier post, and so maybe anyone who turns up won’t see it as an opportunity to vilify the board.
Give them some slack until it’s salvation, or too late.
Re: Meet The Board
Ok this needs to go ahead to comply with requirements but the timing is horrific. The full focus right now should be on getting us out the shit and fielding (what will be heated) questions on what has been a horrendous season should wait until we know the outcome. That’s just my view, yes I know they need to have it- just the timing.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Rubbish! How on earth are we in this together, we have no control over recruitment, formation or future of the club, we have a right to ask questions etc.Barrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 4:51 pmThis 100% now is not the time for recriminations or retribution as my old boss used to say “Don’t bring me problems its solutions I want”.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 1:51 pm All pretty pointless as I see it.

If the root and branch reset comes after we get relegated do you think we'll have time to do that ? you're kidding yourself it will mean a monumental change to everything as a club we do ,sorry mate but you need to wise up because this situation we're in !
