Who would possibly want to take on a club that is reporting circa £1m losses on the annual returns. If we go down the club will be unsellable. We don’t attract the crowds or generate the income streams. Being in the EFL is worth £1.3m a season. Go down we lose that and basically we fall off a cliff.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:08 pmDon't believe for one second that if we are relegated the current board will be in situ next season.barrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 10:59 pm
Crunch matches have been and gone we are going down Jonty.
Hard truths have to start now and the board should be planning for next season in the national league.
They've given the club a huge amount, it isn't looking like it's going to work, and there must come a time when enough is enough.
Angry posters on here on other threads being very critical. If they pull the plug there's a danger of the club ceasing to exist.

Re: Meet The Board
It’s flabbergasting that they have all stuck with a system that’s produced loss after loss but surely Wood can’t be picking the formation?SilverdaleBluebird wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:07 pm I can’t make the Q&A but can someone ask who’s forcing 3 at the back (I’m guessing Wood)?
There’s no way 4 coaches in Whing, Macdonald, Gallagher and Maamria have looked at that squad and the form it’s been in and thought that’s the best system to play. It’s meant to sure you up at the back and we bleed goals, always down the right where either Barkhuizen (not a wing back) or Jackson (nowhere near League Two level) are nowhere to be seen.

This is hardly worth a response, but the owners are entitled to pull out. The club are not entitled to have wealthy backers.barrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:10 pmDo you honestly think if they're fans they'll let the club cease to exist? The current owners could still be fans without putting their own megabucks into the club.
If they decide they aren't going to do it anymore, particularly in The National League, who is going to provide the necessary funds? Repeat, who?

Don’t see the point of this on Friday where we are. Big game Saturday focus should be on that, Everyone can see it’s a shit show at present but it needs a rallying call from fans to show what this club means at the game. As mentioned if it turns soar Friday might make the board walk even if we manage to stay up and might be no club. Short memories some people we could have folded when Casson walked away and these guys came in. Huge mistakes made this season but trying to get the team going is more important than scoring points at a Q and A at this time of the season imho time for this end of season

Agreed. They are not called the owners for nothing; it is literally their business and we are the customers. The business is making losses and it would be logical to call it a day. So don't go biting the hand that feeds us.sambino wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2026 12:02 am Don’t see the point of this on Friday where we are. Re: Meet The Board
Maybe they should have spent the last 6 years in the football league establishing us building the fan base exhausting income streams - instead they have wasted money on crap players and paying off managers. Constantly failing to even employ any real football people the team behind the scenes is as out of place as the team on the pitch.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 11:27 pmThis is hardly worth a response, but the owners are entitled to pull out. Accrington make it work - Bromley have not had any problem developing they will be in league one next season.
When we go down and we will, the club has no roots in the local community no structure a poor ground and training facilities which are by all accounts poor

Not saying you are right or wrong, but it’s comments like this that may make the owners think it’s no longer worth it. Instead of ploughing personal funds into a football club, I’ll e.g. see to it that my children’s inheritance is better funded, or spend it on something different.Bingo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2026 9:13 amMaybe they should have spent the last 6 years in the football league establishing us building the fan base exhausting income streams - instead they have wasted money on crap players and paying off managers. If that happens, there is a danger that Barrow AFC could free fall out of existence.

Re: Meet The Board
Yes and no , yes the board have been brilliant financially supporting the club BUT if I'm honest since ( apart from Wild and 2 months of Clemence), I haven't enjoyed our time back in the EFL.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:42 amNot saying you are right or wrong, but it’s comments like this that may make the owners think it’s no longer worth it. I personally think the board need to have a few extra people on board ( doesn't need monetary obligations)
I'm not into scare mongering or making sensational claims but I fear for the club's future!, we'll lose over a £million, we'll also lose the 50% we'd get for ground development!
We're reliable on Mr Woods for our football knowledge ( I've no axe to grind) let's put this out there he's an ex agent yes he'll know the ins and outs of signing player's/ contracts but how on earth does that qualify you to be a Director of Football??.
It looks odds on we'll go down just let that sink in !!!
People saying get rid of everyone easier said than done!
Then it's another re set of player's being signed, and another ( probably) new manager, new ideas, also new budgets to reset, plan, Carlisle have spent £millions have a fan base 3 times ours and they're struggling, get any of this wrong and we'll end up like Scunthorpe.
Things will have to be rebuilt, Fans being back on board, to be honest the communication from the club over this season is disappointing, Adam really does his best but he's one voice ,
I listen to Give 'em beans and the Barrow social We're all passionate and care but there's a disconnect between how we as a fan base and the club see things and we end up with this absolute "s***show of a season !
I couldn't go last night for a personal reason, years ago I'd have been gutted but I didn't miss the feeling of dispondancy that we all get walking home!
I hope this meeting is positive and not a slanging match, I'll write my questions down and then address the board with them in a concise and orderly manner because as Paddy once famously said we're all Barrow aren't we ! ?

Re: Meet The Board
A number of people seem worried that the 'plug could be pulled' by the current board. Perhaps addressing these concerns would be a good starting point for the meeting?
Ask the questions that you need answering. Passionate - yes. Personal - no.
Once the season is over, and we're preparing for life in the National League, mistakes can be addressed and corrections (hopefully) made. We're too far down the river to avoid the waterfall now.

They'll need to have a plan in place in the next few weeks in case we get relegated, May wouldn't give us enough time!Cokey wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2026 11:32 am A number of people seem worried that the 'plug could be pulled' by the current board. Not sure if they intend to live stream this session however.
