Re: Barnet v Barrow match thread
We won’t stop up now I would love to be proved wrong. We have made a mess of being in the football league not doing enough to establish us as a football league team and hiding behind this little Barrow mentality shite
Other teams have done better at establishing themselves
We’ve employed people to do jobs which have had the owners pants down we have paid good wages to players but done nothing to grow the club off the pitch
Never thought I’d see us in the football league and I’d accept going down if we were paying peanuts to local players but I bet our wage bill is higher than Barnets

Ive just watched Foley post match interview. He looks very uncomfortable with the position he’s found himself landed with.barrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 8:10 pm Put Coughlin in charge and get Foley back focusing on the playng side for now.
It's done though we haven't got 1 win in us let alone 2/3 we might need.
A truly shocking season and the board have to be blamed for it.

MJ not in the middle, Smith not even in the squad and McLean injured so we are lacking in midfield. Going to miss Canavan and Reglan if they don't return soon. Really need to be up for a fight Tuesday because Oldham are a decent side and have a couple of string lads up front.
Who is McLean?

I’ve just watched the goals. Seen those build ups all before.
We spent 20+ games arguing over formations and players and right backs and round pegs square holes. Have we now firmly established that formation and team selection has had little bearing on where we are. We are just not very good

Because he isn't a head coach/manager just one of the lads.Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 8:38 pmIve just watched Foley post match interview. A mess all of it! the board have picked one good manager in 6 years they were gifted Evatt by Casson so can't claim that one prior to getting to EFL.
I don't trust them to get it right in the summer either but if they can no reason with right investment we shouldn't be top 10/play offs.

Lucky you, i will be 121...at least i have memories of us in the old Third Division. The Vic Halom squad from years ago would have run rings around this lot!boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 9:25 pm We are down, if its a 48 year cycle, looking forward to doing it all again when I'm 100.

Amazing saves it lets the ball hit him half the time pure luck.LCBAFC40 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 5:26 pm I like Foley and lets face it we've looked more like to get points since he came in but between him, assistants and a consultant? I just dont get the team changes every week (albeit if injuries etc) but the subs didn't make sense. Let it too late to change things and had no bite in midfield so where the hell was smith ?
Win all 3 home games and we stay up (thats obviously my theory) I'd take 4 points from these 2 home games then no chance at Cambridge we'll get a kicking! Then its a fight vs Newport on last day.
Think the GK makes some amazing saves but is young (definitely needed an old head either on the bench or as No1) to learn from but has made too many mistakes which you could say has cost us what 10 points ?
Give me some what you are taking

Jonty we signed players in close season and then in January to play with a back 3, we changed it then put Jackson on the right and Shipley (who's nowhere near efl level) at left back , we then had 2 central defender's who are also not good enough, we only changed it because we'd run out of ideas ( managers) whatever formation we played the player's recruited are simply not good enough these players would struggle in the National League irrespective of what Rob Kelly ( allegedly said)Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 9:52 pm I’ve just watched the goals. It's now uo to our board to start planning get a new manager and new recruitment team sorted for next season, think everyone is feeling numb but I like others never felt we'd got the right set up to survive in the EFL ( which to their credit the board alluded to this at the last meeting), they must be gutted but they've paid these players decent money only to be betrayed by people hiding behind "injuries " and not putting in basic running/ tackling only 4 more games to endure like the board I feel betrayed and let down can't wait till this garbage season is over

Changing manager five times in a season or is it six I lose count and expecting to stay up is as ludicrous as it sounds.

Don't bank on the board being there if we are relegated.blue nige wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 10:23 pmJonty we signed players in close season and then in January to play with a back 3, we changed it then put Jackson on the right and Shipley (who's nowhere near efl level) at left back , we then had 2 central defender's who are also not good enough, we only changed it because we'd run out of ideas ( managers) whatever formation we played the player's recruited are simply not good enough these players would struggle in the National League irrespective of what Rob Kelly ( allegedly said)Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2026 9:52 pm I’ve just watched the goals. It really isn't a given, so don't don't bank on it.
If that's right, what next?
