This team is technically poor, to put it mildly. But no, they are not the worst Barrow team I have seen. Anyone who watched some of our early NPL teams from the early and mid 70's, or some of our teams that struggled and were relegated from what is now The National League, will know there have been technically worse teams than this current lot.

BUT . . . in terms of character, commitment, dedication and passion this is the most shameful Barrow team I have EVER seen in 64 years of going along to Holker Street.

The board have taken us down with some decisions that don't even seem to make sense!
I'm worried about next season because I've no confidence in the board getting recruitment/ a new manager etc right
Most people would not have signed half these players by firstly looking at their stats and their injuries!
The board need to reassure us that next season will be a complete new outlook strategy!
I agree regarding the board. They have only appointed one manager who has done any good for us and that was Pete Wild. They have fritted away a few million quid of their own money on the club and now we are back where we were when they took over. It needs a rebuild on the scale of what Ian Evatt did in his first season with us. IIRC we barely had any players when he first came in. The new boss needs a blank canvas to build his own side with his own players.

We don’t have the infurstructure for northern premier league we’ve had 6 years to build something and we’ve hardly done anything

Bromley didn’t expect to come up they have done quite good - other clubs manage it

I have always maintained that the team deserved to go out of the FL in 1972 because there were too many slackers.
I feel now that the team deserves to go out of the FL in 2026 because there are too many slackers.

If history repeats itself and we find ourselves dropping out of the FL in 2080 I hope I won't have to be saying the same thing again when that time comes around.

One egg per point? or 300 odd eggs for how much of a waste the season ticket cost.

Look at the Managers / coaches records we’ve had in our short time in the EFL. Have any of them really been any good? Possibly Wild… but that ended abruptly.

We’ve been on the downward slide since last season and It’s been a complete struggle. The worst thing was the January window. That was when the alarm bells were ringing.

The club needs a total player clear out, even if that means cancelling contracts.

I cannot face going next week to clap the players took us down. Maybe by August the pain will have gone and will return but it’s been poor this season even sticking with Whing I think we would have stopped up, what’s happened since is a total shambles. It’s needs a root and branch review and get a manager in and give him responsibility for all the football side. We need to make sure we don’t do a Morecambe and drop again

I really hope the board admit their mistakes and make a statement soon, they've been eerily quiet and we need to know if they have a plan of intent for next season and a plan for the future....

Hopefully. The mistakes they have made have caused this.

How are we drastically changing the recruitment plan for next season?

That’s what I want to know.

Shearer said at the last Q&A that Paul Hornby had already “ crushed the numbers” in the event of us being relegated.

We’d have lost even if there was something still at stake. This team just doesn’t have the guts or mental toughness as has been shown time and time again. Technically they can play at times but our biggest downfall has been not doing the basics - not running, pressing, competing, being organised, desire to stop the ball going in their box. Such a poor team all round. Have to laugh still at Hornbys comments about them being good enough and us having a good transfer window, it was clear to every man and his dog where the squad was lacking and what was needed ie. Experienced players and a manager. Instead we got kids nowhere near good enough and Paul Gallagher.
