Well they haven't all season under successive managers, so will probably think 'why should we?'Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 10:57 am hopefully Foley and his team will be thinking like this.

Score 5 before half time and it could make it very interesting
I want to here the manager say that they are going pick
A side to go and score goals and go tor it
We are not mathematically down yet - I’ve not been drinking

There has always been something to protect, is why we've had that mentality.. we have nothing to protect now

Re: Is that it then?
Playing 5 up front would be horrendous; I very much get your point about having a go but when teams are losing and they just end up with 4 strikers on the pitch it rarely works

Right what have we got to do and hope other games go our way, let’s have a look…..
What needs to happen…. I think…anyone wanna check?
1- We need to win by 4 goals to put us level on pts and GD with Harrogate. Odds- for us to win by 4 goals or more 28/1
2- Harrogate to lose. Odds 39/20
3- Crawley to lose by 4 goals odds 45/1
Threefold combined odds: 3940/1. Worth a quid.

IMG_0357.jpegHow about 50p each or set up a syndicate of a hundred at a penny each. All winnings to be be purchased in season tickets.
Might give them a bit of incentive to win!

Some factoids
The last time Barrow AFC won a game by four clear goals was in August 2024, when they defeated Port Vale 4-0
The last time Newport County lost a game by four clear goals was on April 15, 2023, when they were defeated 4–0 by Stockport County in a League Two away match
Based on results up to April 2026, the last time Crawley Town lost a competitive game by exactly four clear goals was in the 2024–25 season, when they were defeated 4-0 away by Brighton & Hove Albion in the second round of the EFL Cup on August 27, 2024.
Worth a mad quid this surely. If i’ve got my sums right. Anyone like to check?? Disclaimer- bet sensibly and for fun. When the funs stops - stop,

Re: Is that it then?
We don’t normally have 4 shots on target never mind score 4 goals.
Re: Is that it then?
Completely agree, don't forget they need a result as well, leave 2 or 3 up front for all their corners, give Stanway something to aim for , pack their box for all our corners and free kicks and please get the subs on early if, as usual we are struggling. Our football has been way too sterile and emotionless for nearly all of the season. I don't care if we get thumped, at least have a go at thumping them, weve got nothing to lose, just go for it, we've already got one foot back in non league.Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 10:57 am When they have a corner - let's leave at least 3 up... Let's play 3 up top including the best headerer of the ball in the team, whether that's an attacker or not, let's take risks by flooding the opposition box even if it leaves us exposed.. that's just a few ideas but hopefully Foley and his team will be thinking like this..
Re: Is that it then?
True,..,.but stranger things have happened! Knowing our luck Barnet and Salford will be doing their bit whilst we are not grasping what we need to do, ie shoot! Don't think twice, just hit the bloody thing!!AugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 6:01 pm We don’t normally have 4 shots on target never mind score 4 goals.

Ideal outcome. Harrogate lose. We win 4-0, Crawley lose 4-0. Both Barrow and Newport survive!

Re: Is that it then?
Salford need to win vs Crawley to have a chance of automatic.. and if Cambridge are winning Salford will want some good momentum going in to the playoffs + to finish top of the playoffs pile.
.. so the message from the Salford manager to his players has to be 'we need to win this at least 7-0'
