Could Innes Cameron do a job up front for us in the National league next season if the new manager wants him?

Watched him against St Johnstone last Friday and wasn’t impressed really. Puts himself about but no pace, little skill and missed a good chance with a header. I saw nothing in his brief time earlier on the season to say he’s anywhere near what we need and although the national league is a drop, still don’t think he’s good enough for the top end which is where we should be aiming.

Looks half decent up Scotland in the lower leagues, because it’s basically Holker Old Boys level.

He played at scored in the PSF away at National League Tamworth, so he has already scored against National league defenses.
I also think a big striker who can actually head the ball is something the team would need next season.

look at some of the "failures" during our league stint and how they've done in the National League this season;-

Will Harris at Halifax - 22 goals
Andy Dallas at Southend - 15 goals
Owen Bray* at Halifax - 6 goals from midfield
Sean Etalaku* at Forest Green - started in NL play offs last night

*Barrow B team players and both still very young.

How a player does in the EFL isn't always an indication of how they'll do in the National League - Scott Quigley was another prime example of that.

Ah yes! Andy Dallas, another decent striker at lower league level that we managed to ruin by either playing him out of position or just not playing him at all. Goes somewhere who actually get the ball to his feet or in front of him instead of 50ft in the air and surprise, surprise he scores some goals

Dallas wasn’t given great service here but I just don’t think he was league 2 standard personally. He wasn’t great at Morecambe either, I remember him fluffing a great chance v Farman which would’ve won them the game.

Will Harris was young when he was here and a relegation battle wasn’t the place for a young lad to learn men’s football I don’t think - familiar story.

There is a step up from national league to league 2, especially for strikers. Telford has dropped down too but not made much impact, another one we took who was on a decline in his career.

Talking strikers, Neil Morton and Marc Coates was my favourite ever strike partnership for Barrow.

Morton with his skill and goal threat. Coates the hardest worker I’ve ever seen wear the blue and white.
